To me, this looks less glossier than the Batmans. Time to reserve some lacquer for glossing it as this isn't enough for me.

Comparing the 2 it's close but the Batman steels do indeed edge it imo.

Poly bagging or buying some DIY shrink wrap machine but please be prepared to get a bit of petroleum smell once applied.

Does the Smell go away after time or remain as I heard some reports that after using a Gloss Spray the smell remains

I see you use 3 Coats of Gloss Spray and they look great but does the Smell Remain even after weeks/months

Sorry, but it's definitely not gloss

I have it here and it's that of a typical streaky black matte finish

I think it looks streaky and if thats classed as a gloss finish then standards have definitely gone way down hill...IMO

Was seconds to letting this order go through the other day. I too will await the price drop. If it sells out before, then so be it!

I'm just really hoping this isn't what they mean by "glossy" for the Disney steels. It honestly feels like they're playing games now, at this point. Mind boggling how we just can't get a proper confirmation by anyone officially from Zavvi. Anyway, I'll do my thing and cancel and just order them on release day, since they will sure enough have more copies available like with Wreck It Ralph, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, Dumbo, Fantasia, and all the Toy Story's. Not playing this rush to pre-order game in fear of it selling out anymore

Well the smell remains a bit. If you polybag the smell spreads to that. Maybe it will be free of smell if we keep it outside for 3 days and polybag after that.

This Aliens steelbook still looks great from what I seen in the unboxing video
I have Aliens on its way to me
I also have Alien and Alien 3 on order and will order Alien 4 when its announced

They will look great together in my opinion

I'm still unconvinced... earlier I held it next to both a gloss and a matte steelbook, and this is definitely much closer to matte than it is gloss. It's still a nice steelbook though, even if it is pretty streaky - I just try to pretend it's the alien skin texture.

Looks like a slightly shiny version of a cheap streaky matte finish. If you can see streaks then it hasnt been glossed surely.

Glad i canned my order tbh. Ive already got the anthology set but really wanted this to look awesome to be truly worth paying £15 for just 1 of the movies

If you hold it to the sun at exactly 11:55AM, you can clearly see the shimmer of the gloss.

Ok after seeing ricster photos I will keep. Looks pretty decent. Much better than the German version.

No Embossed or debossed title and the green color on the back dont match to the blue color of the front.

I am keeping the steel, but I have set myself a new rule with Zavvi exclusives... I will not preorder them anymore and will wait for in hand pics.

I have cancelled the Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and There will be Blood. I have a feeling that the Zavvi gloss machine will still be out of bounds for both of them and at £16.99 a pop for each, it's just not worth it.

I Have Aviator still on pre order, but depending on news for the final art work/ the finish on the steel, I may cancel that too.

I did not, if I am being honest. I appreciate the 2000 print run, but i open my steels, rather than keep them sealed. I was not blown away by the movie choices and got sucked in by the limited print run.

With the money saved, that has paid for my Thor 2 FS release and I want that way more than these two titles.

Felt great cancelling them. I hope they end up in the hands of collectors, rather than eBay.

Received mine yesterday, it's so much worse in hand than in the review videos, I've cancelled buying the others, I'd happily pay about £3.50 for these steelbooks. Such a shame
