I wouldn't wish to run this steelbook down as there must be people buying it because they like it. . . all I can say is that I personally don't.
I don't know what finish it will have and I don't really care as I'm not impressed with the design on the front, on the back and on the inside. . .
However, it's good to see inside artwork on an EIV steelbook as I believe this was an issue in the past?

I have yet to watch the film and by many accounts it's a decent watch and although this is available in the plastic case with slipcover for well under half the price of the steelbook I suspect that fans of the film would prefer to have the film in a steelbook rather than in plastic packaging.

I've only got a few of these EIV steelbooks and I'm perfectly happy with 'Gangs of New York' and 'The Departed' with the lovely glossy finish which gives the steelbook a quality look and 'feel'.

And of course there's none of this Studio Canal/Sony nonsense with the title possibly missing on the spine of the forthcoming 'T2' steelbook !

Regarding steelbooks in general: I certainly don't believe that steelbooks are any worse or any better than those from 2008/09.

EIV only just recently started doing steelbooks and all have had inside artwork
Some of the first few EIV steelbooks it was black and white inside artwork
A few of the recent pre order announced steelbook have colour inside artwork

So far they all be a gloss finish

This one might end up looking ok in hand but its not a film I have any interest in so even if the steelbook artwork was different and amazing I still would not be interested in getting a steelbook of this film

I must have misread it somewhere but I remember voices raised at the lack of inside artwork on certain steelbooks though I can't remember which company was responsible - thought it was EIV, but after your message I've just checked the few EIV steelbooks that I have and images of those that I do not and I can see that the issue was, as you said, black & white inside art not no art.
Thank you @paulboland

It'll drop, "indie" movies (wanting to nail a better description) always drop in price. Seems only Marvel/Disney seem to immediately sell out.

This tickles my fancy, the front/slip of the Amaray is an ensemble effort (same as the back art pretty much) and irrespective of comparisons with WOWS the flag image is pretty cool. I really enjoyed this film and think it's pretty underrated. Also the dresses Amy Adams wears make me feel funny downstairs. Won't pre-order though as I'm sure will come down to £10 or so around Christmas.

Weirdly showing as "Sold out" along with all of the other announced May releases (BLADE TRINITY, SAW and SILVER LININGS) and if you log on to the site in the normal way and type in the individual steels they are nowhere to be seen (except for the "Sold out" BLADE 2) . . .

I pre ordered this with loads of other stuff ( no idea why? ) ages ago, so cant cancel it.
I hope it does get cancelled

You can cancel it. You just need to contact them via the website.

Login to your account > Orders (your order should be showing under "outstanding orders" since it hasn't shipped yet) > Contact us and take it from there...

It was probably ordered with the buy 2 get 10% off at the time when it went live. If you try to cancel you can't for that reason. You could email them I suppose but then you're going to have to deal with paying full price for the first item that was ordered.

They won't care, they'll just cancel it. They can't expect a customer to wait indefinitely for something to be released.

I've had that before and just tell them this item isn't coming out for a while and is no longer required could they please cancel, they tend to do without any issue and tend to not question any offers, in my experience.

It would be pretty funny if they wrote straight out: "No, we will not cancel your order!"

Worst case scenario would be they disable access to your account but they don't disable your account.
They have access, you don't. Your order is still there whether your like or not

I would piss on my neighbor laughing :hilarious:
