I wouldn't wish to run this steelbook down as there must be people buying it because they like it. . . all I can say is that I personally don't.
I don't know what finish it will have and I don't really care as I'm not impressed with the design on the front, on the back and on the inside. . .
However, it's good to see inside artwork on an EIV steelbook as I believe this was an issue in the past?
I have yet to watch the film and by many accounts it's a decent watch and although this is available in the plastic case with slipcover for well under half the price of the steelbook I suspect that fans of the film would prefer to have the film in a steelbook rather than in plastic packaging.
I've only got a few of these EIV steelbooks and I'm perfectly happy with 'Gangs of New York' and 'The Departed' with the lovely glossy finish which gives the steelbook a quality look and 'feel'.
And of course there's none of this Studio Canal/Sony nonsense with the title possibly missing on the spine of the forthcoming 'T2' steelbook !
Regarding steelbooks in general: I certainly don't believe that steelbooks are any worse or any better than those from 2008/09.
