I dont know how long I will do this, or if people have questions ... but I'll check this thread daily in case people have questions about steelbooks etc. I'll try to answer to the best of my ability from what I am allowed to say in some cases or just info you may not have seen me drop before in past threads.

Wreck, just back to the Disney titles. Is the art absolutely final? I'm confused as to why they seem to have used a style of artwork that seems to be more inline with the crappy sequel to The Jungle Book rather than staying true to the original movie..defeats the purpose for me. I want to own these to mark my childhood, and feel strongly about the fact that the artwork should be in keeping with that. It doesn't make any sense in my eyes.

Most people don't do blind buys when buying steelbooks.
Meaning that most people have already seen those movies and want to know how the product looks like. So the retailers provide them with this kind of information and photo's. Which is good for them because it results in more pre-orders.

They won't change this because a few people don't want to see 'spoilers'.

Don't even look at the front artwork... or any artwork if you're so worried about seeing spoilers from the movie. You'll always see it.

i dont think that all ppl saw movies before buying steels and even if they saw, they have friends, girlfriends they didn't. not so amusement if you open it and the whole plot twist at the end of the movie jumps straight in your face.

You wouldn't know this if you never saw the movie before, so what exactly is your problem? You've clearly seen the movie before... arg.. why do people always have to complain about non-problems!?

it's a problem for me, you marked the wrong part:

even if they saw, they have friends, girlfriends they didn't.

besides that u dont have to seen the movie to know you are on earth if you see lady liberty and u also don't have to be einstein to know somethings going on if you see the blurry bruce willis image.

I'll inquire ... but who knows, I'm not totally hip on Jungle Book art to know if its truly wrong ... or if its a case of horrible images to go to print with.

I'm not really allowed to talk about NA stuff anymore. Thanks to a certain someone . I guess I will just say that I pre-ordered 2 of LM an 2 of JB ... I'll get me a perfect copy and sell off the other.

I think its more about choosing iconic art for the steelbook (when possible) and thus sometimes that can happen. I'll let the mods be aware so we start putting that imagery in spoiler tags as its most often inside anyways.

To Zavvi's defense on POTA that art has been on the dvd for like over a decade.

i was wondering for quite some time now....the steels that we dont know the print run (aka 4k run /5krun/etc)
how much do they print?
for instance the new Japan wave only Prometheus is 2k the rest?
or little mermaid and jungle book...are the numbers high of all the releases that dont specify?

You would not be able to purchase the Blufan Exclusives, you need to know somebody in China and have them get them for you. So we leave the GB's to our good buddy bluraysteel.

Well I'd definitely like to join his GB if that's the only avenue of course
I'm not as well-established over here as I am on a different forum, but I guess it certainly wouldn't hurt to send him a PM

Wreck why do zavvi sometime tell us the print runs on certain steelbooks then make others so confidential ie jungle book and little mermaid.

Wreck, what's up with the Thor & Captain America re-release/reprint?!
Zavvi just ripped off thousands of collector's who paid good money for these steelbooks, these were the holy grails and steelbooks like Thor & CA made collecting fun. Now every STEELBOOK can get a re-release when a company smells money... ?
