I dont know how long I will do this, or if people have questions ... but I'll check this thread daily in case people have questions about steelbooks etc. I'll try to answer to the best of my ability from what I am allowed to say in some cases or just info you may not have seen me drop before in past threads.

Steelbooks with slashed spines

Skyfall UK is the latest example of steelbooks with slashed spines. I think Scanovo makes the SteelBooks then sends them to have the discs inserted and product wrapped. The problem occurs when the dumb*** at the disc manufacturer opens the Scanovo boxes. So either Scanovo could put a cardboard sheet on top of the steels before closing the box or they could fire the dumb*** at the disc maker or retrain then keep a close eye on this knuckle-dragger. Either way there is no way this should still be happening.

Not sure if this has been asked but i couldn't find it. Any word on plans to release that Japanese Goonies steelbook elsewhere?

Play was going to do it ... that went away .... does that mean there is still enough interest for it to appear in UK ... perhaps. It sure would be nice.

Hi Wreck, hope you're well. With Finding Nemo being released here, do you know if we will be seeing other Pixar and classic Disney releases being rolled out?

If you are big into 3d and dont double dip and dont mind German text ... then I guess go with German. If you like english titles and dont mind not having a 3d disc then go with UK. I'm going UK, and I can throw in a 3d disc at any later point in time.

Its very sad indeed ... we had this fixed for a while too. I will be bringing awareness to this again as I myself got a German steel with one as well.

Here's a question. As a paid up member of the Nosey B******* club, I really want to see the process of how they manufacture the steelbooks. You know, like that show on Discovery "how do they make that" or something?

Is there any footage or video of such a thing?

Any info on the stock levels of the new Fox UK wave. Are any in danger of selling out, with Roger Rabbit and Hobbit's also releasing in April I am trying to budget properly and spread out my purchases

Now that Viva's out of the picture in the US, when is Disney going to give us more collectible packaging? Too many recent titles without it. Brave, Nemo (both Viva) and some Target digibooks but that's about it. Did Disney have a problem with Scanovo/SteelBooks or was it just price? Doesn't everyone make enough money selling these to us?

Actually I have just been informed that the Fox wave is 4k. That doesn't include Star Wars as I dont know the qty on that yet.

Also of note is that Platoon is embossed.

Hopefully things materialize. But its the aim of any packaging company to deal with all studios and game developers world-wide.
