Went to 3 Targets in my area before finding a group of 4...1 had been beaten up bad...shrink wrap rips and scratches, one had a large dent on the corner, one looked good but upon further inspection the spine was all off and not centered on it....and finally...the one I purchased...perfect in every way...was able to exchange it with the one that was sent to me in the mail...wish I would have taken a pic of how it arrived...literally was almost folded in two...smh...shame...poor poor steelbook

Yep-seen some Staff slam them on the counter to 'stack them together' (when I've picked up copies of things for forum members) (yikes!). But, this was not at Target...I think we (as in collectors or enthusiasts) all have a different set of considerations about the items, that is not necessarily apparent to store staff. Out of fairness, they are accustomed to handling plastic cases, and other non-fragile items, and the plastic security cases and spider packaging was not originally designed to take into consideration these more limited editions. I think a little bit of insight at the store/movie department manager level would go a long way. But of course, that needs to come from above, and time/resources need to be allocated for that to happen...and reinforced, over time....

I sadly went to four Targets before finding 2 at the last one after ALL of them showed in stock on my mobile app. I asked a Target associate at the first Target I was at to help me find the Steelbook. He ask me for the Store Item Number. It was the same number as the amaray case. What the heck?

Went to my local Target the day of release and they had about a dozen copies in their new end cap shelf which. The shelf has a new plastic, curved lip which was easy to get the SteelBooks out of without worry of damage.

Only negative I noticed was many of the Steels had misaligned spines.

Coin shop was closed today so this won my spending money. I'll likely also get one of those best buy steels with the extra money as I was going to get a Morgan dollar. Never heard of it but I'll watch it next week. It was the higher price of the $25 since I waited a week. They had 2 steels left.

What happened to the amazon.ca version?

It used to say "Amazon Canada exclusive" and I read somewhere it also contains the 4 cards.

But now it's not available and there's a new page for it and it's called a "Deluxe edition".

So does this deluxe edition still contain the cards?

Oops, the deluxe edition is not a steelbook.
I can't believe the SB went OOS so fast.

I finally got this steelbook yesterday :oohyeah: !

I was randomly going to the Blu-ray section of the store, knowing the odds of finding this steelbook would be pretty slim : after all, three weeks ago, when I went to find it, it wasn't there and the staff didn't know about this release (and I think some weren't sure what a steelbook was). I thought they just wouldn't get it.

But yesterday they had two on a shelf :) ! Very happy, even if I had to pay $26.30, it's still a better value than buying the Part I and Part II French individual steelbooks, which I was going to do once they'd drop to €9.99 instead of their current price of €12.99 each.

This visit to the store almost went awry when I realized I hadn't brought enough cash to pay. I though I had brought an extra $20 bill (turns out I had left it in my room, ready to be put in the wallet). I was emptying my bag, choosing which items to leave (I wasn't leaving The Dark Knight Returns though, I was leaving food :D) while apologizing to the cashier, and then something really amazing happened : a man in the adjacent aisle (who was behind me to checkout a couple of minutes ago and knew I was $15 short) handed me a $20 bill and told me "don't worry about it." EEK! I was a little shocked (I probably was really pitiful :D, taking items out of the bags and calculating how much more I should leave). So thanks to this more than generous gesture, I kept everything and that made this visit to the store even more memorable.

Anyway, here are the pics ;) :
