Never watched the movie before and i don't like "blind buys", so i decided to watch the movie tonight. This is a huge cult masterpiece!!
I'm totally in love with the movie and it's story. Maybe i'll buy more than one copy of this Steelbook... :hilarious:

Like I said previously, the discs are the exact same as the previous release. Original Japanese language with English subtitles only

Wouldn't it be great if the blood on the back was all Embossed

I doubt that it is actually possible unless they used a border on the back, i'd settle for just the Japanese character (?) on the back to be debossed. I hope this gets treatment similar to The Raid with debossing or embossing on both sides.

I hadn't seen this movie until a couple of weeks ago when our universities Film Society had a screening in the universities cinema. As is was free I popped along and I wasn't disappointed. It was a really great movie! Now I can't wait till I get my hands on the Steel.

imo its way better than hunger games and i never understood why america always have to make these worse remakes on great movies... other great examples are "the girl with the dragon tattoo", "the mechanic" or "departed"... nobody need this if u saw the original.

But Hunger Games isn't strictly a remake of Battle Royale, it's based on a trilogy of books in their own right. That said, it all comes back to Lord of the Flies originally I suppose ;)

Battle Royale is also an book and hunger games (dont matter if movie or book) is an remake no matter what they call it, we all know that.

btw thats what steven king said about the book hunger games:

[...]Also, readers of Battle Royale (by Koushun Takami), The Running Man, or The Long Walk (those latter two by some guy named Bachman) will quickly realize they have visited these TV badlands before.[...]

Ive read the book and thought in places it was much better gives you more back story and politics. Also got all issues of the manga but from memory i found the last issue disapointing. The film is amazing tho a true classic i remember goin to the sequel at the london film fest and i felt ;( all the way home fell asleep at one point in part 2. Hav started to like that film as well in a kinda so bad its gud kinda way ;)
