To be honest, I've got a lot of time for both Battle Royale and Hunger Games, couldn't really choose between the two.


Happy to say, I'll own them both as a steelbook.

Personally, Battle Royal is the better film, Hunger games is the better book.

Without going into too much detail, I thought the HG film failed to build any sense of suspense (A common Holywood issue). BR on the other hand, doesn't feel like it's in a rush to move forward and the film is better for it.

I guess it's really to each his own, but suffice to say I was really blown away the first time I watched this film. It's not really a suitable comparison, but think of it as a darker, grittier, more 'realistic' portrayal of the Hunger Games.
