Boxes back at Zavvi from August 4th

While likely, there's no confirmation they are the same boxes.
The boxes they used were okay, it was the wafer thin toilet paper they used to wrap the steelbooks in that was the issue. The white boxes + bubblewrap would be fine IMO. If we get that or not... only time will tell.
Honestly though, pretty much any box is better than the A1 mailer's they are currently using.
Indeed, and the day after I read this announcement, Amazon.it in their infinite wisdom, split a larger order and sent on 2 Steelbooks in a large A1 mailer with no padding - not even bog roll - present!
Don't ask me how, but they were undamaged!

Has anyone still got an old play.com steely box they can send on to them, if so pls post it to them and attach a message saying

We in the UK ultimately foot the bill for low shipping cost. All these catalog releases would have been 10.99 if Zavvi followed play.com model.
as an international customer i wouldn't mind paying let's say £2 extra for shipping in a decent box
£2 is still less IMO. It should start with £5 which means UK customers will pay £12.99 and importers paying £17.99 which is the current pricing for Studio Canal and Lions gate titles.

I was told "original boxes" so im guessing the same white boxes from before. fyi
I didn't even know that they had removed the white small boxes with that paper thin wrap, it's what I was boycotting lol did they downgrade their packaging from that ? already those white boxes were awful offered no protection, if they came back to that awful white box with paper thin smooth wrapping I'll still won't buy...

My last 5 orders or so (over the past 3 weeks) came in Amazon style A1 mailers with the toilet-paper-like wrapping. So yeah, it definitely got worse - by comparison the white boxes were much better.
OMG already I thought those white boxes wore the worst, this definitely got even way more awful in terms of protection. I don't understand why people are happy about this change

I guess so but I think it's rubbish, it's such a turn off
From what I can tell, Zavvi use Guernsey post, which are cheaper than Royal Mail, particularly for international deliveries. As a business, Zavvi will get cheaper rates too. I certainly don't think they're paying £5 to ship to the US.
