This thread has been created to provide insight for folks trading and buying. Sometimes knowing that a guy/gal has some or MANY successful trades/sales is good peace of mind.

IF THE PERSON DOESN'T HAVE LOTS OF GOOD TRADER RATING FEEDBACK, AND YOU DONT KNOW THEM, THEN PRIVATE MESSAGE a Trading Moderator. We can try to get you the info you need to feel safe and or make a safe trade/purchase!

As we all know, trading is at your own risk. However, we are able to stop many deals from turning sour if you enable us. We have one bad person who has been a scam artist at many HT/Blu-ray sites besides ours.

The posts below are from when this was a Good Traders/Bad Traders list ... from the date this OP has been updated ... this thread will only serve as a Buyer Beware and Hall of Shame for those bad traders out there. If you need info on good traders view their trader rating under their avatar in the post bit (to the left) or PM a Mod.

I suggest you PM a mod for any deal over $75 if you dont know the person, regardless if they have 3 successful feedbacks etc. This is YOUR community as much as it is OURS, and we'll make the time everytime to make it as safe as possible for all.

Added 1/23/2012:

Just a general reminder - If you are experiencing difficulty with a trade at our site, feel free to contact a Trade Moderator, and we can provide suggestions on how to resolve the matter, if the trade took place at our site.

If, despite repeated attempts to resolve the trade/contact the trader, you do not receive any communication, or items, etc, please use the Feedback system in place at the site, or the rest of the community will not be aware of issues with traders. In addition, you have a limited time frame to file Paypal disputes, so please familiarize yourself with that process, just in case, to further protect yourself. In addition, the Staff will take action against accounts for repeat offenders if absolutely necessary.

How do you know he is a scammer? Can you prove it? I know he's got a 0 rating, but you got to start somewhere, right? Unless it can be proven he's a scammer, I give him the benefit of the doubt.
Plus he takes Paypal, and buying with Paypal is pretty secure.

Don't you usually get your money back if you get scammed on ebay? It seems like they're pretty favorable to buyers.

Exactly. That's what I meant by paying with Paypal. If you don't receive your item, and you file a claim, Paypal steps in and usually favors the purchaser, unless the seller can prove he shipped it. But if a scammer, then there is no proof. That's why I would give them the benefit of the doubt.
Plus, how do you know 3-4 people got ripped? Same ebay account?

look at the feedback on previous account and paypal takes almost 1-2 months too get your money back.

beware of alisnake from ebay

me and cooey both had problems recently trying to get payment for items we sold to to the member.

I did, and this is his only one listed.
Personally, I'm not bidding on it, as I already have this, but I also don't believe in assuming someone is a scammer because of zero feedback.
I emailed him for more pictures, and he was kind enough to email them to me.
Although he is listed from UK, his emails make him sound foreign with broken English. And he's got a bunch more items for sale now too.

if someone's buying from this guy, please give me his Paypal Adress...BEFORE paying...to check it.

I got scammed 3 Months ago, maybe its the same guy...mine was from UK too

Hope it's appropriate to add that I did just as DB is suggesting last year and the mods here were excellent in helping to resolve the situation.

This site is (IMHO) generally free of these types of people and if we stick together and watch each others backs we can keep it that way and continue to help each other out relatively worry free :D

Aye I don't think he is genuine either. Asked him for some clearer pics of Let The Bullets Fly and he responded too busy :hilarious:

He sent me some pics when I asked. Not the clearest, but he was very nice about it. Good luck to any bidders.

Guys - I have a rather persistent person on eBay trying to purchase steels off me outside of eBay. His reason was that I would avoid the fees. I said the fees don't bother me and I would much rather the security of remaining through eBay. His reply:

HELLO

I do not understand why, but we have paypal for 100% Safty !

The payment is not via ebay, it is via paypal !

So i do not understand why you give ebay the money as fees !

Thank you

If you really not want out of ebay, MAKE A GOOD PRICE FOR BOTH IN ONE AUCTION
AS BUY IT NOW AUCTION !

He wants me to "do a deal" on two steelcases I have for sale. I have a starting bid price AND a "Buy It Now" price, if he wants a "deal" he can bloody well bid and get it cheaper than the "Buy It Now" :hilarious:

Should I be alarmed? I have already said no however, but I mentioned this seller in another thread and 'Che' said he has also been approached by this seller trying to avoid the use of eBay for a transaction. Suss.

It's none of his concern whether or not you avoid eBay fees. Avoid
