This thread has been created to provide insight for folks trading and buying. Sometimes knowing that a guy/gal has some or MANY successful trades/sales is good peace of mind.

IF THE PERSON DOESN'T HAVE LOTS OF GOOD TRADER RATING FEEDBACK, AND YOU DONT KNOW THEM, THEN PRIVATE MESSAGE a Trading Moderator. We can try to get you the info you need to feel safe and or make a safe trade/purchase!

As we all know, trading is at your own risk. However, we are able to stop many deals from turning sour if you enable us. We have one bad person who has been a scam artist at many HT/Blu-ray sites besides ours.

The posts below are from when this was a Good Traders/Bad Traders list ... from the date this OP has been updated ... this thread will only serve as a Buyer Beware and Hall of Shame for those bad traders out there. If you need info on good traders view their trader rating under their avatar in the post bit (to the left) or PM a Mod.

I suggest you PM a mod for any deal over $75 if you dont know the person, regardless if they have 3 successful feedbacks etc. This is YOUR community as much as it is OURS, and we'll make the time everytime to make it as safe as possible for all.

Added 1/23/2012:

Just a general reminder - If you are experiencing difficulty with a trade at our site, feel free to contact a Trade Moderator, and we can provide suggestions on how to resolve the matter, if the trade took place at our site.

If, despite repeated attempts to resolve the trade/contact the trader, you do not receive any communication, or items, etc, please use the Feedback system in place at the site, or the rest of the community will not be aware of issues with traders. In addition, you have a limited time frame to file Paypal disputes, so please familiarize yourself with that process, just in case, to further protect yourself. In addition, the Staff will take action against accounts for repeat offenders if absolutely necessary.

If you agree with a trade you should 'honour' the trade unless both parties agree to cancel. It's like a gents and ladies handshake that you have agreed a contract, in this case a trade or sale etc.

If you dont follow up with the trade and cancel it, it is like pulling out of a contract you agreed to and liable for others to give you a bad name and lose your reputation.

I've had it before when I agreed to a trade but found a better deal later when the steels werent sent. But I 'honoured' the trade as I agreed to it.

So rule of thumb is: if you agreed to transaction, stick with it, don't pull out or make silly excuses unless both agree to cancel.

This is a good post, thanks for this sunnyx.

In addition, it's completely feasible that if a member backs out on an agreed upon trade, that negative or neutral feedback can be left.

That way, it can be spotted if there are continuous problems with certain members and further actions can be taken at a later point.

If it's a misunderstanding, that's one thing, but an entirely another if one party is asked to hold items for a long time with no shipment from the other party (because who knows, maybe they don't have that item anymore).

Hey folks - just a general trading alert. I have been made aware of a person of another forum (BollyMan) that was hosting a group buy that has not delivered his items.

I've banned the person from this forum (Zah), and I'm willing to give anyone that has lost money to this trader advice if it's needed, if they are a member here and if they would like some tips on what to do next.

However, given that the transactions did not occur on this forum, please just treat this as a general alert and FYI.

The member asked to host group buys on this forum, but did not meet all the criteria that we set forth before approving a person to host.

PM me with questions.

Thank you.

can I post peoples names in here ??

If I have Proof of thier Wrong doings ??

Just asking before I get Deleted "again" ?

TC :(

Disputes on this thread are for the following.

Issues that have resulted in a member being scammed or taken advantage of by another member here and that transaction OCCURRED ON THIS FORUM. There is no way that I or another staff member can seek out everyone that may have an issue.

If this issue is ongoing, and NOT SOLVED, then conversation should best be kept to private messages until it is determined what the issue is - assuming that it is not a widespread issue.

I only post general alerts about traders that I suspect may have many ongoing transactions, or have the potential to do so, and sometimes, because of the lack of assistance folks receive on another forum, they may approach me here on HDN.

If folks rather not have my help, or ash333's help, or another mods help in getting their funds back, discussing next steps, or coming to some mutual agreement with the other party, by all means post here.

Because by posting here before discussing with one of us, you really damage your chances of getting anything figured out in your favor.

But I personally will not tolerate accusations about other members in this thread until they have been discussed with staff.

This forum will not be and cannot be like that other spot that just lets all the members have at it.

Trading and especially international trading can at some times be stressful, upsetting, and concerning.

If something like this is too concerning to any member, then by all means, please stop trading.

Thank you.

I think there should be a striking policy on members that decide to change their minds when they agree on a trade or get a better offer...

eBay is a joke there should be a option to send negative feedback to buyers I've had a clown bid on one of my auctions and win it last second and never paid I'm sure they just wanted to scupper the auction as they had a alias selling the same item.

I have also found a French eBay seller who as a shill bidder on his goods to bid his steels up can I post is ID on here?

---------- Post added at 09:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:28 AM ----------

Best and most agreeable post I read in awhile that for damn sure.

Here here I've had a German eBay seller do that to me agree a deal then he backed out and sold for more money :(.

---------- Post added at 09:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:30 AM ----------

Now if ebay gave us sellers back the power to leave a buyer a negative feedback rating then i dont think the buyer would be so demanding. Sellers used to be able to leave negative feedback and i think ebay cocked up when they removed that option.

Exactly

Adding the following two members to the list.

They have not been on the forum in a while and do not respond to e-mail inquiries about the status of their outstanding trades.

Members such as these folks may petition to be reinstated on the forum if they solve their outstanding trades - they have been banned permanently for now.

SHONUFF6 - received items from a couple of members and has not visited this forum since the beginning of January.

JEZHEAD - received items from one member and a HDN secret santa gift from another - sent nothing in return and has not visited this forum since December.

As always folks, please do NOT delay in contacting a trading moderator if you suspect there are problems with your trading partner and / or always ask folks with little feedback to send first.

Thank you.

On AVF there is a 1 month general trading ban for anyone doing this withoput an acceptable reason, I think multiple offences gets you a full trading ban

Would defo be good to implement something like this

Just my 2 pence

I got banned on AVF for a month because I didn't want to sell an item to someone I didn't like, I haven't bothered going back since. I guess what I mean is a general striking policy is a good idea but let's not get too draconian

Really? Lol! I know AVF can be bad sometimes but surely it's at your discretion who you agree to sell to!

Hi Andy,
i think now we can update with Serval alias Coucous94120 on ebay.

Carefull, he is scammer.

thanks

Hi Laurent - as far as I'm aware all these problems happened with e-bay sales? Or did they happen on this forum - ie - via a trade thread?

Because this thread is for forum trades. Not for e-bay sales.

I'm unsure how they do it over there at AVF, but I'll make a bit of a leap to prove my point.

Short of not allowing any user to not view the trade forum, and locking their trade thread, mods and staff here can't keep track of private message communication. So if the user that has problems approaches another member here for a trade via pm - we'll not be able to see that.

So "banning" someone from trading really doesn't do anything, really, because there are many other avenues to approach members despite being able to see the trading forum (or not).

Which is why we ask members to post in the Pending / Active sales section, to maintain their trade thread, to not pay via gift to people with low feedback, such there is a verifiable history of transactions and mods & staff can see patterns if these rules are followed.

In addition, there are a few things we do different on this forum, including trade mediation. If the user is not responsive or perhaps not visited the forum in a while, it serves no purpose to just ban them from trading.

But if the user wants to continue being a member here, they will provide any information requested from mods & staff - or face a full ban from the forum for a range of time depending on the offense.

You'll also note that the appropriate feedback is required when any trading difficulty on this forum is encountered. In any user's profile it gives their full score, but also a percentage which would include
any non "+ 1" transactions.

If you haven't done so already, you should thoroughly review our trading rules and guidelines.

Thank you.

Happened on ebay. but Couscous94120 (on ebay) is Serval here (on HDN) and there is no reason that he is an honest person here whereas he is a scammer on ebay. My opinion.

If someone is dealing with Serval he must be aware of this person.
