This thread has been created to provide insight for folks trading and buying. Sometimes knowing that a guy/gal has some or MANY successful trades/sales is good peace of mind.

IF THE PERSON DOESN'T HAVE LOTS OF GOOD TRADER RATING FEEDBACK, AND YOU DONT KNOW THEM, THEN PRIVATE MESSAGE a Trading Moderator. We can try to get you the info you need to feel safe and or make a safe trade/purchase!

As we all know, trading is at your own risk. However, we are able to stop many deals from turning sour if you enable us. We have one bad person who has been a scam artist at many HT/Blu-ray sites besides ours.

**************************

The posts below are from when this was a Good Traders/Bad Traders list ... from the date this OP has been updated ... this thread will only serve as a Buyer Beware and Hall of Shame for those bad traders out there. If you need info on good traders view their trader rating under their avatar in the post bit (to the left) or PM a Mod.

I suggest you PM a mod for any deal over $75 if you dont know the person, regardless if they have 3 successful feedbacks etc. This is YOUR community as much as it is OURS, and we'll make the time everytime to make it as safe as possible for all.

Added 1/23/2012:

Just a general reminder - If you are experiencing difficulty with a trade at our site, feel free to contact a Trade Moderator, and we can provide suggestions on how to resolve the matter, if the trade took place at our site.

If, despite repeated attempts to resolve the trade/contact the trader, you do not receive any communication, or items, etc, please use the Feedback system in place at the site, or the rest of the community will not be aware of issues with traders. In addition, you have a limited time frame to file Paypal disputes, so please familiarize yourself with that process, just in case, to further protect yourself. In addition, the Staff will take action against accounts for repeat offenders if absolutely necessary.

It's a shame that Dazza's on list as I have dealt with him successfully many times but unfortunately on the non-receiving end myself this time :(

Hey folks, feedback - negative or otherwise may only be left on a trader's profile if items have actually changed hands. Meaning, I sent funds to trader A and that person didn't send their end, I received a damaged item, I didn't receive the right item, etc.

If a trade was agreed upon, but no items were sent or received, there is no transaction to rate.

In addition, "bad traders" on this list are people that have scammed other members with no resolution. Just posting your displeasure about a deal gone wrong or a deal you have problems with is not allowed, posts addressing these types of issues have been removed.

You may also note that according to our forum trading rules, items not in your possession may not be traded, and continue disregard for our forum rules, if this cause issues for other traders is cause for one's account to be restricted - no matter who you are.

Thanks.

Well

How is HDN not banning these members make it not a safe place?

I know what Karl01 is trying to say though. Who can you trust at all, when all of a sudden 2 long term members are banned for suspicion of fraud (I assume)? Before that it was top_cat2, another buddy of mine and a huge asset to the forum! I've done deals with all of these people and my experiences with -deuce- etc. have all been extremely positive. I'm sure there always is a story behind it, but I guess there is really nothing HDN can do, STILL it seems as if it's not as safe a place to trade as it used to be...

Your shocked why? i have seen this week two long standing members banned i dont feel safe anymore.

Fair comment. It's always upsetting when one person takes advantage of anothers trust when it comes to trading. Then again that probably counts for 0.5% of all the trades taking part on HDN, the rest are completed with no problems at all.

Trust is a big thing on HDN which i believe makes us unique compared to other sites, hence the GBs etc.

But as with anything in Life we all have to be a bit more vigilant when it comes to certain things, trading is no different;

1) Keep up to date with the latest Trading/Forum Rules HERE
2) List your sales/trades with as much detail as possible, read HERE
3) If you feel something isn't quite right REPORT the deal by creating a ticket via www.hidefninja.com/helpdesk/

Any trade reported is looked into ASAP so i can assure you all we take these cases very seriously....hence the recent bans.

These deuce/Rov were extreme cases though, there are a lot of 'smaller' instances that are sorted in a more 'softly, softly' approach due to personal things affecting people outside these forums etc.

We're here to protect all HDN members and to offer advice/support where needed so please get in contact if you have any worries.

Sadly, there are always going to be people, anywhere you go, that you thought you could trust that end up letting you down.

On another forum that I frequent, I have seen things just like this. Someone with often a hundred or more positive feedback, going rogue.

I try to focus on the more positive aspects. For example, not to toot my own horn, but after a load of people got scammed by one user, I had a sale of my own items in which the proceeds went to those that were scammed via Amazon gift cards.

Of course, it isn't just me. I have seen dozens of examples on the site of great altruism over the years I have been a member there.
However, the scammers are always in the back of my mind...

I am not one to jump into a new group of people online (real life is a different story) and simply start participating. It took me 6 months of "stalking the forums" on this site until I got a good enough feel for the community and people to choose to make an informed decision to become a part of it.

The reason I chose to, is because it has a very similar feel to the other forum I like. Lots of great people - certainly more than enough to outweigh the bad - and an overall friendly and inviting atmosphere.

Not to hurt any feelings, but to think that someone having 50, 100, or even 1000 feedback or simply a lot of positive interactions means there is no risk, is a bit naive.
No matter what, I still keep those thoughts in the back of my mind. The key is that I don't let them hold me back or drag me down. I prefer to see the best in people when possible and I think that's what makes my time here so enjoyable.

Sorry for the ramble... I just wanted to express how much I value my time here in spite of a few that don't show the integrity that we ourselves strive to.

I'm not surprised either . I would if 100 % of members here was very trustful and honest. ( its line 99.9 %) there is always someone like them ( 2 guys banned ) but I'm very pleased staff here deal with them straight away and they not afraid making hard decision. So people watch out because Ninja never sleep !!!

Do you not think it would be a wise idea to ask for all personal details when both items are completing a trade?

Such a thing exists on forums such as Hotukdeals where buyers are encouraged to contact each other before doing sales, other advices such as where one buyer is a new member selling items and people are unsure then the buyer should be in a position to post first, but I can appreciate, not everyone is comfortable in doing that.

Yeah that's the way it works on the AVforums, new members are normally asked to send first even though its not actually a rule, though that wouldn't have made a difference here as the 2 members mentioned above were the established members ?

Hey guys, behind the scenes a whole team is involved in investigating trade disputes, and creating a whole variety of tips to keep our trading community as safe as possible. In the grand scheme of things, luckily, they do not happen very often.

Unfortunately, it is just a reality that not ALL trade disputes can be prevented, or resolved 100% of the time, out of the 1000's that take place. But...out of the 1000's of members that we have, only a relatively few have ever had to be banned because of trade disputes-you have to consider percentages, and the amount if trades that go off without a hitch. Naturally...as is the case with customer service, you often only hear about the 'bad' transactions, and we can't know of them, if we are not notified.

If you ever have concerns about a member, please protect yourself using all of the recommended tips we post in the trading forum (stickied at the top), and feel free to contact a Trading moderator if you need assistance. We won't let this or any other of the HDN threads turn into a negative spiral with baseless accusations/attacks, if at all possible-as you know we try hard to create a different 'community-driven' forum here.

This thread is meant to alert you of confirmed 'bad traders', all other concerns and comments should be addressed to the trader or Trading Moderator if a trade inquiry arises. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. HDN has always believed in the importance of providing a safe, fun, and informative trading community-please use the tools provided in the Trading forum, and use our members as a resource when asking about items/transactions.
