I don't really get the over-zealousness with gloss finishes or even embossment. I have plenty of flat, matte steels that I think look great and don't think either additional finish would help to improve them.

As for this steel, I think it looks fine, the back makes sense considering the front as far as logical progression. While the inside is kinda plain, it does give the perspective of how isolated they were during the whole hijacking.

I also have matte steelbooks like that too but IMO when the finish lacks embossing or gloss then the artwork can't be plain or lackluster. This artwork would have looks better with gloss or embossing because of this artwork but then again it's just my opinion and everybody has one

Embossing would have pointless on this (border would cut through both ships on the front) and gloss would not have helped that back artwork at all. Matte was probably the best choice for this IMO.

The back artwork is awful, I expected it to be water like the inside. The title could have done with being debossed too and a gloss finish would have improved it massively of course. I'm glad I passed, I can't believe this is the same studio that released all those lovely glossy Steelbooks with HMV. It just shows how far the standard has fallen :(

We got slammed pretty hard with snow here in Chicago last night with 7-8" of lake-effect snow, but I still managed to get into the Best Buy on the way to work withe the late rush hour. My local Best Buy has only 5 copies, all seemed mint to me, no loose discs or dents. I picked up 2. These won't be lasting around on shelves for long....

Yes poor looking. Never liked the artwork. I Haven't ordered the UK one so looks as though it will stay un-ordered.

Garbage. The gotta have it factor for this one has just hit the floor. Lame back. Boring interior. Matte finish. I'll just get the amaray.

This is a dissapointing steel imo. I just feels and looks "cheap". They didnt even bother using the 2 disc inserts and just stack the dvd and bluray on one peg which has caused a lot of them to have loose discs. A year ago this and Elysium would have been glossy and not powder matte since they are sony releases but some serious corners are being cut now smh. New releases getting catougue wave finishes now. Not good.

Looks like we have an early candidate for one of the worst steelbooks of 2014

How hard is it to design front/back covers that match even a little bit

PS Now I know why the studio didn't release any advanced pics
