Wanna hear what the HK IMAX version is like before I order it and make mine a 2 disc set.

So my IMAX disc arrived today. Took some screenshots against the UK version for comparison:

The whole film is IMAX (not just certain scenes like Dark Knight, Transformers 2, etc.)
And the hard-coded subs are English too:

Many thanx 4 pics .. But I thought no film had yet been shot entirely in the IMAX format? i remember Christopher Nolan talking about the difficulties of shooting in the format for long periods on the special features disk for Dark Knight Rises.

...is this some kind of post-processed digital imax conversion? i do know that they do that all the time 4 movies shown in IMAX theatres.

I think it might be.
You can see it is slightly zoomed in (by looking at the left and right sides in comparison with the UK non-IMAX version) but the image is extended either on the top or bottom. So you do get more of the image shown

Would love to replace my disc with that. Could you tell me where you ordered?

EDIT: Thanks Flip, but HOLY OVERPRICED BATMAN! As usual, I will be steering clear of YesAsia. I'll keep my eyes peeled on Ebay.

I was very worried about that glue based on many comments, and turns out it was very easy to take the slip off, 45 seconds tops. Maybe I had a different type of glue, but by starting with rubbing the back and then gently pressing your thumb on the two on the front without pulling it too soon, it came pretty easily.

Well, that sounded dirty. :naughty:

Bought this steel and a UK disc to swap out. A big THANK YOU to those that said i needed to swap out for an English disc due to subtitle issues.... Watched the movie through and NO SUBTITLES need for "alien language" at all. So cheers for making me buy a pointless UK disc to go in this steel.
Honestly, i come on this forum for useful discussion, helpful advice, not to waste my money.

Hey, on the German disc, the 'alien language' is translated into German on-screen, so you need the UK disc to understand what she is saying. It was not pointless buying it.

I don't know how anyone can watch those conversations without subtitles, but good for you.

Maybe next time wait and decide for yourself, there was no rush to buy the UK disc, it wasn't going anywhere.
