If Zavvi are charging more then £12 for old releases then they've lost one collector who was gonna buy most of them (even though I'm not really impressed by any of the artworks).
Yeah they improved packaging, but still worse then plays and far worse customer service & shipping times, yet charge £4 more.
Roger Rabbit was a new release and limited to 3k. One of the Star Treks was limited to 3k. Finding Nemo's a new release. Indiana I was gonna let slide, but old releases for £15 I think is just too much. It's not so bad for one but I happen to like most of them so it adds up.
And anyone who agrees with me I think should take a stand. I suggest at least don't pre-order straight away and see if Zavvi look into it, cos no normal buyer is paying that much for these. They're relying on collectors. And if we show Zavvi we are willing to pay whatever then they're only gonna go up in price. And I don't know the ins and outs whether or not it's Zavvi making the prices or not but they've still alienated me.

If you're happy to pay whatever then my comment obviously doesn't apply to you.
As I said the artwork doesn't blow my socks off and we've had decent steelbooks for £11 meaning they are probably choosing to charge more because you are willing to pay it not because they need the extra money to make it extra nice.
But if there are enough like me then maybe they will do something about it.

price is fine with me as its totally free shipping to germany + its a custom artwork not some cheaply reused amaray cover, which justifies the markup at least for me

i prefer a special design+higher price(+low print run) to lower price+random artwork+(high print run)

you can't have everything...

Well I was on the fence until I saw the rest of the art and EMBOSSING! :)

Says embossed FRONT... so does that mean Arnie might be embossed with the title?

my guess would be only the title similar to the terminator play.com release..

.. which would be better than a embossed arnie IMHO

It's not custom artwork, has been taken from U.S release...

The front artwork for this steelbook was originally used on the 2011 american blu ray reissue of the film

ok, screw them then ! ;)

nah, i mean if its really cool looking with a nice cover+embossed i gladly pay a few bucks more!

yeah, I like it as well and with some embossing should look pretty cool. Just think for an old film the price is too high imo.
Will still get it ;) probably just this one though.

There is another way to look at it. If they feel the market is profitable then we will see more steelbooks.

yep looks like zavvi aren't going to be as generous with their pricing as play was, they don't have to now seeing as they have no real competition.

i dont think competition really matters for exclusives... more just how much a retailer guesses they can "get away with", so to speak.

That is, if any steel in this wave sells badly (cause customers dont care about the flick and/or they are not willing to pony up £15 for it) u should see the price drop to something more realistic.

Not going through 11 pages but quick question.
Was a Blackhawk helicopter ever used in this film as one is shown on the back cover?

yeah that's def true, it seems the retailers are trying to get every penny they can get out of us for steels and they obviously think we will empty our wallets at the sight of any steelbooks at whatever the price, I just hope zavvi start getting a little bit more realistic with their pricing regarding these older movies, I wouldn't mind paying more for a new exclusive title.

there was no black hawk helicopter in the movie
all the helicopters in the movie have skids no wheels
