Just found this, it's a Target online exclusive. It seems to be the same as Future shop.

I think I'm pretty glad I got this cancelled. HMV or Germany, here I come!

Someone check the Target.com site quickly, some just came back in stock again :D

Even though I got my email very early a long time ago, I am going to stay the course and wait for delivery next Tuesday. Good luck all!

Nope, when I checked it says "out of stock online" and "not sold in stores"

What a fiasco this is turning out to be. Only if amazon.com would get steelbook exclusives in the US, like they do in Europe and the rest of the world, we wouldn't run into half of these problems.

couldn't agree more expect i would like to see more steels released via B&M because amazon has been going downhill for awhile at least with me.

mine is scheduled for Monday via 2nd Air UPS even though I paid for standard shipping.

I would rather wait a week for USPS instead of UPS. Oh well...I'm expecting for the worse already...man...seeing that it's being ship in an envelope makes me remember Sucker Punch package by UPS. Oh boy...

Now that is asking for trouble.

No freaking sh*t! See that crimping line on the side of the "envelope?" If the content is off-centered, too bad! EEK! Like Mayflower said, if they are pressed for time, then take the time to package things appropriately and communicate to the paid customers. It is the non-communication and archaic update messages that are killing customer confidence and satisfaction especially for collectibles. This is killing me inside and I have too much holiday stuff to do to get wasted over a couple of damned steelbooks.

now how stupid is that? They are going to get more people complaining and asking for "dent compensation" than they would have if they had just payed the extra buck and up'ed their packaging.

It took amazon.de and amazon.fr about 2 years before they changed their packaging solutions. I would image the volume of complaints and returns finally made it feasible.

And just imagine how many dented and destroyed returns those guys got over that span. :ohno:

Now Target.com got a run of 500 steelbooks. It might not be for a while before they do something. ;)

I am in the same hood as corporate Amazon and know quite a few folks who work in management there. I will see a lot of them this weekend and the rest of the month at holiday parties and I am going to burn their ears out about this huge steelbook opportunity for Amazon.com to do exclusives instead of letting Walmart and Target blow this up. Heck I may just ask them to get on here and see how well received Amazon.* is across the board :D

Oh man don't bring up the Sucker Punch by UPS episode. That is something I never thought I would ever experience again until now...

Ash, just remind them that doing steelbook runs like 007 / James Bond was a failure of the title on blu-ray, not a failure of steelbook. :naughty:

Not sure of the numbers of Scarface (how much amazon sold), but the print run for that one was absolutely huge.

Given how amazon.com runs separately from the others, the best thing would have them compare numbers with amazon.de - the German Amazon has really figured out the right way to market / sell / and now ship steelies.

I would imagine their return on that must be pretty good - but you're still fighting a studio battle - most studios in the USA still figure that steelbook is not really a viable alternative for premium packaging. :(
