I can't believe there isn't a thread in here strictly for Beer. Well now there is.

So I'm going to Phoenix and this store is about 3 miles from the house I am renting. I need some recommendations of beer they sell. I'm looking for Hoppy beers please. I've had a few of them they sell but not allot. HELP ME OUT!

You guys are paying $20 a bottle for beer ?

Sometimes. It all depends on what the beer is. I'd much rather pay $9 for a 4-pk of Green Flash West Coast IPA or $10 for a 750mL of Boulevard (Farmhouse Tank 7, Two Jokers, Saison-Brett, etc.) or even $20 for a 4-pk of KBS than spend $12 for a 20-pk of cheap mass produced yellow fizzy corn water. I also like that I can spend $25 to $40 and get everything I need to brew 5 gallons of my own beer.

ive come from wine drinking to this, and in wine $20 gets you an "average" bottle. my fav vineyards were around $15, so i dont have a problem spending $20 for a bomber of something i think ill really like (although my wife has a problem with it )

So i got 2 bottles of Brasserie Dieu du Ciel Peche Mortel.

never had it myself, but i saw it was on the top 100 list so i figured id check it out while on my moms tab

any of you guys ever have this beer before?

I haven't. The only top 100's I've had are KBS, Pliney the Elder, Abacus, and Furious. Probably adding a couple to my cellar this weekend (Darkness, BCBCS, and Dark Lord).

so far this weekend ive managed to down:

one bottle of Brasserie Dieu du Ciel Peche Mortel
one bomber of New Glarus Belgian Red
one bottle of New Glarus Uff-da
one bottle of founders breakfast stout
a couple sips of my wife's bomber of Southern Tier Creme brulee
some wine, and some bloody marys to go with that

The one on the right is last year's Dark Lord. I still can't believe that this guy wanted to trade all of that for what I gave him, but he said that he really wanted to try the Crooked Stave.

Thanks for the offer on Five, but I want to age these for a few years and see how they taste.

So far this weekend I've had a Schlafly AIPA, two Schlafly India Brown Ale, and an O'Fallon Wheach. I might bust out something else out tonight, but I will definitely drink a couple tomorrow.

It's been a LOOONG weekend.

so i was without power from saturday until last night so i had to spend the weekend at my parents. I drank a lot of Kern River Citra and a bottle of New Glarus Raspberry Tart. Today I didnt have to work so me and a buddy from my tasting group went to Bell's for The Wild One release. There are only 370 bottles, brewery release only and they dont tell you when they are released. My one friend was there yesterday and told us so we went today.

I'm on the fence on wilds. I've had New Belgium's LoF Clutch, and that one was just ok. Cool bottle and cool concept.

Almost forgot. I'm excited that my most recent trade will be coming today! It's a big tasty mix of Surly! I know I'm at least getting some Furious and probably some Coffee Bender.

I just got it and went through the box. I got Furious, Bender, Coffee Bender, one Bitter Brewer, and a Tyranena Brewers Gone Wild!

i really need to start getting in on this trading thing. just too much good stuff out there!

the wife was working tonight so i decided to drive around and do a little beer shopping

went to two of the bigger stores in milwaukee, both of which i hadnt been to yet.

first one had a great selection, and pretty much all of it was build your own 6 pack stuff. thatll come in handy when im in the mood to try a bunch of new beer. coolest part about the store is they have their own bar. guess what was on tap? founders breakfast stout! thought that was pretty cool. might try and go back tomorrow for a glass

second store i went to is the city's biggest. it was beer heaven let me tell you. ended up buying some new glarus IIPA and one bottle of their R&D Golden Ale (they had tons of NG stuff. made me happy )

one thing i wanted to check with you guys on: they had two bottles of the bruery cuir for $20. i knew it was one of their more rare beers (and was pretty surprised to find it in WI), but i couldn't justify spending $20 when i told my wife i would cut down, lol. you guys know anything about this beer? is it a super rare that i can't pass up?!
