Custom Hybrid-Exterior SteelBooks™

Let's be honest, I don't think very many of us enjoy having printed backs on our steelbooks, and a good percentage of us also prefer having English titles on them

So, I have starting making hybrids, combining the best parts of different steelbooks into one even better custom steelbook

These are the 3 that I have done:

Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes (United Kingdom front/United Kingdom spine/France back)

Sin City (Germany front/Canada spine/Canada back)

X-Men: First Class (United Kingdom front/United Kingdom spine/France back)

Has anyone else done the same thing or something similar? I would love to see some pictures or suggestions if you have!

*Of note, yes this does mess up the interior artwork (if there is any to begin with in either steelbook), but for me I care more about the exterior art then the interior art, so I don't mind

it seems to work out better when you combine steels with no banner or the opposite I guess. If you break up the banner it looks odd to me.

The ROTPOTA and 2012 look awesome!

I do this too! I'm a spine nut. Living in Canada makes it
very difficult for a fanatic collector like me.....(Sporadic dual language labeling)
So I bought a sharpie in every color, and now I custom remove the French writing.

That Rise of... and 2012 looks amazing...! I want one of those (well, two I guess!)

Didn't Wreck do one for Devil's Double (NL + Uk) that one looked amazing too!

Now...people have the option of doing this is they can't unload, trade, or sell their multiple copies! hehehehe! (oppps, that includes ME!)

I don't know about the other people that posted pics, but at this point I do not do anything with the interior artwork. Maybe some day I'll do them

Yupp Wreck did do one for Devil's Double, hopefully he will post a pic of it in here sometime

I believe Wreck also did a Sin City Germany/Canada hybrid, although I haven't seen a pic of his yet

Pan's Labyrinth - Italian Front and Spine, Canadian back and disc. There was no need to mess with the inside art either, as both releases had separate images for the front and back inside arts rather than one continuous image.

I took the Green Lantern front France and added the best buy USA BACK .... the back has the quote in English on best buy and French on the France version. I then mailed the French version to axcraig so he would have a custom and me too. Too bad it seems to have gotten lost in the mail.

I made this one just for show ....

Tinker Tailor UK back + TDK CA front and spine ..... for those Gary Oldman or Die hard batman fans it makes a nice edition of a character you will not normally see on such artwork. Its "Commissioner Gordon"

The blue's match up so it looks really clean ; just throw in custom inside art.

fyi - with devils doubel neither had inside art so it all matches automatically.

I don't think the 2 Sin City's go together well, the finishes are too different.
