What didn't you like about the other one (Dr. Who and the Daleks)? Both were remakes of early TV serials (the very first two dalek stories ever made, in fact), with the added selling point of being in colour on the big screen ("Now on the Big Screen - in Colour!", as they put it on the publicity posters at the time).
