once i took the shrinkwrap off i was able to detect what had been unseen paint chips on the front cover. curious if they'll take it back due to it being out of shrinkwrap. really, how can i possibly see something so small. i looked it over for ages and saw nothing. took the wrap off and there they were. really sucks.

if its unsealed, they'll let you exchange (pending stock) but they will take off the shrink wrap off the new one... hope that helps

How many stores still have this? I've heard that many big Target stores are sold out and a friend of mine got the last one in his store. Anyone know if the 'recall' happened?

Lots of stores in San Diego still have this. I was just in a local store tonight and they had over 20 copies. Was in a different store last night and they had over 30 copies.

I have to say... without question, this is the WORST quality control I've ever seen on any release. Almost every single one of them have the same issue as the next. Lots of paint chips. Lots of machine scratches on the corner. Lots of scuff marks on the bottoms (that may be due to the idiotic cases of death that Target jams these into).

Sorry.. I am not trying to be negative. I'm just callin it like I see it. This steelbook release from Target was absolutely terrible quality control.

It's a really nice steelbook otherwise, but man this issue has left me with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth about it.

I don't know whose fault it is. Of course I know Target didn't manufacture these. They are the retailer. I just know... somebody is messing up somewhere, and they are on Target's shelves. Most of the defects I've seen appear to be machine born, and almost all the defects are under unharmed plastic, meaning it was not caused by mishandling after they were shrink wrapped.

A quick question for those who ordered online - are there any stickers on those copies like they have on the in-store copies? My online order decided to show up this past weekend and I noticed they are completely plain.

I do believe only store copies had the stickers.

Sure looks like the un-embossed/debossed Target "exclusive" will be the "odd man" out in this batch of steelbooks with the same artwork. No hard data yet but it looks like every other country will be getting the embossed edition.

I know that the version from Israel is the same artwork, but embossed. Although this one will not be as rare, it is one of my favorite steelbooks

The Canadian version I bought on line from Future Shop had no sticker either but the in-store copies I saw had a Future Shop sticker.
