As we said before, Now Ahn Jeongsik in Pixtube, has working on Dredd 3D steelbook artwork
Mr. Ahn designed several candidate for Dredd 3D artwok then We internally discussed final artwork but We have decided to hear our customer voice over following two artwork candidates.
We kindly ask our customer to choose which artwork would be final artwork for steelbook and reply your comments on each of artwork candidate.

It just seems like type A was the original design and Anderson was added as an afterthought.

Even if type A was the original design, I think they gave us the choice to have Anderson or not because they felt the back might be too boring just as a cityscape.

Either way, what's done is done; the people have spoken, the winner has been chosen.
If it matters so much to you, don't buy it; just like I would not have if the back had been plain.

My only gripe would be that the images appear low res and grainy. I hope this isn't the case on the final product (like Kimchis Momento Steelbook) And I'm not mad about the 'white glow' around the new Dredd title!

At least the art's been decided and we can move on from there now

The images don't look low res to me? As for grainy, I'm pretty sure that's an intentionally applied filter.

Too bad Option B won, and they also changed the font to be more "EXTREME". Unless the full slip is really awesome I'll be passing on this. I'm starting to think they shouldn't let the fans choose (in addition to directors/actors), maybe they should leave it up to the artists decide. A similar thing happened with Joint Security Area where the best art was voted on here but the Koreans didn't like it, so they changed it to something less artistic.

I know it won fair and that the majority got what they wanted. But the majority don't know as much about graphic design as the designers themselves (an exception being Whiplash, where the majority made a better choice than the director). But that wasn't the majority/designers, it was the majority/director, who I also don't think should choose (see Only God Forgives).

Maybe, but the majority of people who will actually buy this are not graphic designers so who gives a f***. It's important the buyers get what they want.

I'm sure there are plenty who voted that understand design or even have qualifications in the subject including members on here. The designers input is not invaluable, plenty steels get made with terrible art that someone had to design, so their opinions on what is art is relative. The public voted on what they want to spend their money on, thats perfectly acceptable. If a few who "think" the designers choice should come first thats fair enough, but they certainly don't know better, and both of there choices were designed by a commercial designer, all Nova did was ask us which we would prefer. Rather than a straight art comp where hundreds of designs get submitted and the winner normally isn't the one anyone wanted.
