This film was underrated when it hit the cinema and it is still underrated now on steelbook release. Disgusts me really. A really, well made, visually stunning film not selling out. But you have other films that I wouldn't even consider buying selling like hot cakes.

Another example is Interstellar ... one of the best films I have ever watched in my life. Still available on HDZetas site ? wtf ?

It was £24.99 for Zavvi's; that's $37.50.
I'd rather pay the extra $2.50 + shipping for a steelbook with a nice slip, art cards and two disks instead of one.

Was £15.99 at the hut.

Fifth Steelbook release of Dredd. Don't expect this to go OOS soon. Even if it goes OOS it will be easily available at eBay for cheap like many other releases which had higher print runs.

Either way the UK transfer is terrible, 2D PQ is awful and it only has 5.1 DTS MA, I woudn't have paid more than £10 for it.
This has separate disks for 2D and 3D, so with any luck will be a better encode and also has 7.1 DTS MA.

Sure, it may well be in stock for a while - but at the end of the day if that's what Novamedia have decided it's worth and people are willing to pay that even if it takes a while to sell out, then they've made the right decision for their business.

I completely agree with your appraisal of Dredd, with one exception @InAFalsetto .
Dredd was actually highly rated and well received on its release by the press and cinema goers, the problem was that it was poorly promoted with mainly 3D only prints and not enough people went to see it!

Would still love to see a sequel some day!

Come on Lionsgate, put some of those filthy Dollars made by the Hunger Games movies to good use and give us Dredd 2!!!!!!!!!!

Lionsgate were only distributors in the US, right? I remember as it was Entertainment Film in the UK. I'm pretty sure it was Reliance Entertainment who financed it. Lionsgate did finance HG.

I could be wrong though.

Yeah got a shipment email too from NM, should come within a few weeks, even in this busy period. :)

Not many releases coming for me soon, looking to slow it all down, looking forward to the other releases next year.
