Blufans asked scanavo for the third tin proofs(clearly they are not very satisfied with first two proofs), and it's in process, so it will cause “reasonable” delay

Awesome, Don't mind a delay as long as they give us a fantastic high quality perfect steel. Its good that Blufans are very picky and want the best. If it ends up like WIR after all this wait, I will cry a new ocean

I pre-ordered Blufans 2 copies (ultimate version). I want to take the 1 exchange to kimchidvd version, may be the freight is too expensive.

what do you mean by ''...I want to take the 1 exchange to kimchidvd version..." ?

is it a 4k release ?! I don't remember from the posts been too long I read them and now too many...I think it can't be lower than 4k from what I've learned...

i'd hoped that the steel would be textured like chips of ice

Thanks for the update Alamo......

Don't mind the delay as I know this is going to be one Amazing version of Frozen.

Good to see all the love Blufans is giving this release!! :D

I don't remember either... the print run for each edition kept changing all the time during pre-order:dunno:

in any case we do appreciate the info you are bringing to us :) ... yes seems that there was a lot of back and forth on this... would have been cool to be in that marketing room and ''products and development'' department...

Yes, Anna Edition pre-order will be on Friday at 10 AM (Chinese Time).

I mean, I want to pick up Kimchi version.
When I receive Blufans copies, I'd like to exchange kimchi version.

Personally i prefer the blufans steel. If i had the kimchi i would totally trade. Sadly tho i dont have the kimchi :(

even though I am very excited about the BF version of Frozen, Kimchi did a very very very nice job with this release. They have produced in my opinion the nicest, cutest 1/4 slip exclusive limited to 300 copies and it's just beautiful, they nailed it. I believe it will be the nicest or one of the nicest 1/4 slip this year. The Lenticular is also very nice, the Steelbook is the same with the same extra goodies inside, but it is limited to 700 copies (numbered card included). I Love This Release. But so very looking forward to the Blufans one it will be something special... both should be collected ;) so since they are all OOP, you could always look on ebay, they regularly have nice copies on there and some are affordable. If you want to exchange, once you have your BF copy for a Kimchi copy on this site, it is something possible.

I have to admit, this is the first title in a long time that I want to double dip on and I want the BF version to go alongside my Kimchi version

I'm inevitably looking at an ebay job to get this but am I right in thinking that Ultimate Edition aside the 'desirability' of the editions would rank as:

1-Anna Edition
2-Elsa Edition
3-Olaf Edition

Though Elsa is a more popular character I'm presuming the low numbers of Anna Edition being made available and the Elsa slip being so alike the Kimchi one would make the Anna version the more unique and harder to acquire down the line version?

Why would you want to trade any of the blufan editions for a kimchidvd version? Why not just buy a generic look steelbook from another country i.e. Australia and have the blufans too?

I wouldn't want to trade any blufans edition for the kimchidvd. Only difference, that I know of, between the Kimchidvd version and the other world wide releases are that the Kimchidvd version has character cards and that sweet clear slip. The 1/4 is unique if you're into 1/4 slips but the lenticular will be printed on the UE and the Elsa editions so that's not too special.

IMO the blufans editions are way more valuable than the kimchidvd ones. The blufans also include (or still is described to include) the OST on the Anna, Elsa, and UE. They also come with a themed booklet, or both booklets and a DVD with the UE.

OST included and a WEA steelbook with the title actually printed on the steel, I would be disappointed if the blufans was priced equally with the kimchidvd versions when the blufans is released (unless the printing on the blufans was really bad, which I doubt it will be). To me the UE really is the ultimate edition to own for any fan of the movie.

Kimchidvd Lenti is like going to the theater and watching a movie.
Blufans UE would be like going to the theater and paying the same price to watch IMAX 3D.

Maybe he has an extra UE and he doesn't have a lenticular, And he wants both. I'll go on the record and say that I think the kimchi one will still be more valuable. I'm not saying it's a better steelbook, just that it's going to be more valuable in the long run. Only time will tell though.

I don't think we should compare/bash KimchiDVD and BluFans versions. Both are great companies who are very respectfully considerate of fans. KimchiDVD did the best with the Steelbook they were given at a moderately reasonable price and in a timely manner. People were praising the set until Blufans came up with their sets. In my opinion, I think BluFans stepped up their game so much because of KimchiDVD so we should thank Kimchi. They catered to the people that wanted it in a timely manner while people who are willing to wait for quality in a Blufans version at a higher price. Both types of fans can choose what they want and in some cases (as with me) are picking up both a KimchiDVD and a Blufans version. No need to compare, just enjoy the sets...and most importantly, the movie.
