Saw this posted on another forum - empty case free with any pre-order purchase of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance on Blu-ray.

Release Date: May 6th, 2012
Best Buy Exclusive!

Thanks to 67stingray - he also states this his store only had about 5 copies, so it looks to be quite limited.

I've put possible as he states it's a steelbook and so does the packaging, but until we see the spine...

Maye the reason why you cant find any case are:

First: its already sold out cause plenty of case in ebay

Second: maybe they keep them for next month

:)

Sutti, they were at stores I went to early on.Then when a few people asked me I went back and they were gone. In forums like this word spreads fast. And with some people walking in and clearing the racks for Ebay, it should be no surprise they would be out by now, unfortunately.

yeah....but I've been on it since day 1 and they never had it. And when I ask someone they have no clue.

Hell I even called the corporate sales office & THEY had no clue!

I have given up as someone managed to get me one but on a whim I still went in and checked best buy today (this is the 7th out of the last 8 days I have checked) and still no Ghost Riders. I can only think either they never got them or someone went in and snagged every copy and put them up on ebay. I was on ebay today and saw like 20 of them in a row newly listed so someone is going into the best buys and buying them all trying to screw us collectors over so they can make a few extra dollars makes me mad. Heck been looking for anyone with a local address to me on ebay so I can see if someone did snag them all, mostly seen a lot of Californias.

I'm thinking some Best Buy stores simply did not get these. The Best Buy that is less than 5 minutes from my house never even put out a display for them. And I'm there almost everyday so I would've seen them if they did. But the Best Buy 30 minutes away had 10 or so when I was there last week.

I'm thinking stores that didn't do well selling The Muppets Viva, didn't get this pre-order bonus.

I went to three close to my home and I didn't see any there.

Crossing fingers for this week to show up;) another thing that sucks is that company that stocks BB's movies, they gotta bring their game on. I mean I've been there early on Sundays and they are still organizing and livings things left and right. I understand at maybe 11 or 12 to still be doing it but at 3 or 4!?!?!? I went in at 3 and almost all the shelves were empty.:banghead:

I found 5-7 in a couple of stores here but the attendant wouldn't let me buy one unless I paid for the movie as well. Seems like their system is really screwed up there. I was eventually able to get a manager to admit that their requirement was a glitch on the part of corporate. Crazy and sad situation at the same time. Eventually got one. Should have gotten more, based on the responses here.

How do you equate something that costs $5 in store being sold for $14.99 to be as little as. That is 3 times mark up value. If I were to go to the gas station and buy them out of gasoline at $4 a gas then stand on the street corner and ask $12 for a gallon of gas would you be saying well gas is as little as $12 a gallon. That is a %300 markup and a ripoff, I can understand if they are at least doing free shipping at that $15 as then the markup is a lot less but still these were $5 in store. Worst part is they probably won't send you the receipt so if you do want to pick up the movie and get the $5 back from the preorder your still out that money.

I had someone on another forum pick one up for me just being cool and I asked him how much and he said no charge, totally floored me and made my day. If I ever do find one at my best buy I am going to do a giveaway or two for them to pay it forward.

Catching a break from my work to get up to speed here and this Ghost Rider 2 steelbook thread is still hot! I suppose because this is the only one worldwide at this point? I know Future Shop is getting one next month but that includes the movie. Keep up the discussion as we need to let Best Buy or the next US steelbook retailer know we are serious about our hobby.

Actually, that could not happen since the steelbook is a pre-order item and because of its popularity and cheap price, it would have been cleared out before the release date. Most folks who buy the blu-ray disc when it is released in June will not know about the steelbook's existence if they did not pre-order with the steelbook.

Actually, it's happening now.

If I go in to BestBuy to pre-order one today, how will I get a steelbook to go with my pre-order when all the stock is sold to the people that bought them for $5.00 to put them on eBay or hoard them? Countless people have said they went to numerous stores and there are no steelbooks and many stores never had them to begin with.

BestBuy will sell a lot of five buck empty steels to be filled with Wal-Mart discs. :oohyeah:
