Agree the finish is a good quality but man this is a dull boring steel and the spine is annoying me already, could live with pictures of characters but this dosnt really fit in the collection

See we all love this now then? When did that happen 'cos it still looks like the same pile of garbage to me.... just sayin' :dunno:
I certainly don't love it, but it turned out better than the absolute turd I expected, I'll be happy when it's hidden with the HDN custom slip.

Okay...
So mine arrived, I've opened it and the back is covered in scratches... What is the contact email for Zavvi and how do they typically handle this - it's obviously sold out so a replacement won't be possible :(

I would look at pictures ninjas posted here, to make sure the scratches your seeing are not part of the design.

Still a turd if you ask me! Will look much better with a custom Lenti and titled spine sticker

In other words, when I've completely changed it by covering up the crap, I'll then like it! :hilarious:

My copies at work so won't get it til Monday, but from the pics I'm not expecting to suddenly have my mind changed like some people seem to. Each to their own though, this will be my least favourite marvel steel but a top 3 marvel film!

One thing I will give this steel, despite the incessant naysaying, is that it was very obviously lovingly designed. The creative use of debossing and spot gloss, the attempt to make the spine unique (even if they technically pointed the play arrow in the wrong direction)... it may not be the majority favorite art-wise, but credit to whoever for not simply choosing a theatrical poster, embossing the title (complete with super exciting, not-totally-tired-as-all-hell border), and laughing all the way to the bank.

We need more of these designers trying new and interesting things with steels IMO, the trends these days are so overwhelmingly prevalent and so thoroughly boring. Great that Blu banners and printed backs and the like have gone the way of the dodo, but a new wave of "changes" is loooooong overdue if you ask me.

Yea this will look awesome with that custom slip. I canceled my copy the day before It would've been dispatched lol. I would prob have this any day now. Oo well, I'll just make sure I get to BB early on the 9th. This movie was awesome and can't wait to watch it again!

This would be true if they hadn't ruined the concept by using the wrong model of Walkman and ruined the spine with inaccurate buttons. The key to a design like this is the detail and that's what lets this down. The execution of the design is great but the design itself simply isn't good enough.
