this is what i mean, proof you've missed the point.
it's not meant to be his walkman, its A walkman, the walkman doesn't matter. the most significant part of the cover is the awesome mix tape. it's the SOUL of the film.
you're thinking very one dimensionally about the film...shocking i know, which is what i was saying, a reason you and others don't appreciate it. the makers of the film wouldn't see the film like you do. it's like watching princess mononoke and only seeing bright pretty pictures. my memories of the film isn't the fighting, or action, its the soul of the film i recall.
quill is easily the main character, and main focus in the film. he is what luke skywalker is to the original star wars trilogy you can have an ensemble with a main character. you may love groot more but you cant deny the fact the film is centrally about quill.
the simple fact is, the people who don't like it dont matter. its not made for them. i'll tell you who loves this art, james gun. & thats all that matters. this image sums up what the film is...to it's creator. the art resonates with him, & it resonates with me, & thousands of others like the film does.
and that is the point you missed...and that's why the standard edition exists for those who don't like it.
