Steelbook & Collecting FAQ's:

Q: Where can I find a list of Steelbooks released?

A: blu-raysteelbooks.com

Q: Can I play movies contained inside Steelbooks on my Blu-Ray Player?

A: It depends-Blu-Rays are coded with Region A, B or C. Most Blu-Rays are "unlocked", regardless of what region they are, but it's always a good idea to check this forum or web resources before buying, as some are "locked".

Q: What are the differences between Steelbooks™, Iron Packs™, Metal Paks™, Viva Metal Boxes, Tins, etc?

A: Check out pics and discussion in our forum here

Q: What does "G1" and "G2" mean when discussing Steelbooks?

A: "G1" (1st Generation) refers to a Blu-Ray in a DVD-sized case. And "G2" (2nd Generation) refers to a Blu-Ray in a Blu-Ray-sized case.

Q: How to fix a loose disc on a steelbook you want to keep factory sealed that came with a floater?

A: Fixing a loose disc

Q: How do I navigate international shopping sites?

A: You can download a free 'add on' for most browsers called 'Google Translate'. Once you have it installed, the pages will translate automatically.

Q: I have many more questions-is there a general list of links to help me learn about Steelbooks, protecting them, etc?

A: Yes, here

I figured why I didn't see it. If you have any unreleased items (i.e. preorders), for some reason, you don't get the Express option.

Still, I figure the premium is based on time, not weight. At the very least, Amazon should tell you if you are "abusing" the standard international delivery, which is already quite expensive.

I believe that's incorrect - you got something else going on. I just added Paul and Con Air which are both pre-orders to my basket as a new order @ amazon.de and I can choose Express Shipping.

Hi guys...

I finally did my first ever German Amazon.de order and it was okey...but had to pay around $27+ Canadian$$ for UPS brokerage fees (which sucks!) anyways, i followed the step by step instructions on ordering from Amazon.de...any chance you guys can make a step by step way of returning stuff (just in case it is damaged). Thanks

If anything shows up damaged / or in shape that you think is not acceptable, you can go to the help section of amazon.de (Hilfe) and choose the contact us button on the middle right hand corner. Choose your order, and then from of the last drop downs, choose contact us in English.

They'll send you directions about how to return the items via e-mail. If you have any questions, just PM me or DB and we'll be glad to help.

Ordering Steelbooks™ from Boomerang? A WARNING

Guys and Gals I just want to warn anyone who has or is considering ordering Steelbooks™ from Boomerang.co.th. They are quietly jacking up the prices of their shipping in a typically Thai (devious) way. Not only are they charging stupid money for shipping but they keep raising the shipment units of all their Steelbooks™. When I ordered X-men First Class from them the shipment unit was 3 (180 Baht- $6 US) now it is 8 (480 Baht- $16US)
That is on top of their (ridiculous) shipping charges. Having lived in the Land Of (FAKE) Smiles for a number of years I know first hand how devious, manipulative and conniving many Thai people can be. This action merely cements my already VERY unfavourable view of many Thai people and Thai retailers in particular. Thai= MGB (Money Grabbing Bast@rds).

BEWARE

I'm not sure if other Thai retailers are doing this, so it may be worth checking your orders.

I edited your last sentence just a little bit as to not offend some people.

Thanks for the heads up, and with this quote ...

I must say, every Country has people like that. :p unfortunately :(

It might be due to the fact that usd is dropping, hence making them increasing the price to recover back the losses. In a way or another.

I have not bought anything from them due to the sky high shipping rate.

Blu-Devil. I moved your post over to the General Steelbook Retailer Discussion thread, since this is probably the most appropriate place for it to go. Thanks for the heads up about Boomerang!

u might b right it says "par le" I just saw the "de" and thought it was spanish esp since I was on a spanish site.m

Your welcome darczap much appreciated. Sorry about my rant, it just makes my blood boil when they hike up the price like that, after you order it. You would never see Amazon or Futureshop try a stunt like that.

I would be ticked as well. That is not right imo

The US currency is not dropping that fast to the point they have to triple the shipping costs. The dollar might be dropping a penny per day, but even I don't pick up pennies off the ground anymore.

I order all the time from Amazon.CA and Amazon.co.uk never an issue. I would love to order form Amazon.DE but the exchange rate is through the roof. O r am I just not looking on the sight properly.
