Everything Blu Facebook

Release Schedule (SUBJECT TO APPROVALS!) - We would like to let you know our direction over the next few releases and as stated above, these are subject to approvals. We are taking on board suggestions of movies without steelbook releases but we need some sort of foot in the market before doing so. However, some of those titles have already been brought up in a meeting today, so hopefully we can progress further with those soon.

This schedule is planned to have full Exclusive SteelBook designs (Not just flipped artwork exclusivity). All would feature the same setup as Shaun of the Dead; Full Slip, Lenticular & Blu Box.

Casino EE 002
Hot Fuzz EE 003
Oblivion EE 004
The Worlds End 005

Thank you to everyone supporting us, please let us know you thoughts on the titles above!!

That wasn't the horizontal edition though was it?
It was the play.com steelbook
A lot of their stock ended up with other retailers after they closed down
In 2013 and 2014 it was available to purchase from Zavvi and Amazon
Zavvi was selling it at price of €6.39 at one stage in 2014 ;)

Zavvi listing
Sold Out on Zavvi around late 2014/2015
https://www.zavvi.com/blu-ray/hot-fuzz-universal-100th-anniversary-steelbook-edition/10666693.html

A lot of the Universal and Paramount steelbooks Play released ended up with other retailers after play closed as a business

There were two though.

The horizontal one came first and I thought it sold out. The one that EverythingBlu re-released came later and got redistributed everywhere.....

No it was the play.com steelbook stock Zavvi was selling from 2013

A lot of play.com steelbook stock ended up with other retailers with most showing up on Zavvi with amazon getting some stock also

When Play closed as a business they had a lot of unsold steelbook stock

Play.com stopped trading as a business in March 2013 it was shortly after this a lot of their unsold stock started to appear on Zavvi and Amazon

Overstock companies buy at very cheap prices stock from business closing down and sell this stock to other retailers
I used to deal with these overstock companies buying stock from them for Tower Records and other retail store I was a buyer with

Sometimes it can be the film distributor selling the unsold stock to other retailers if there was an agreement in place to take back unsold stock from a business closing down but that rarely happens with exclusives most times it's overstock companies who purchase unsold stock.

As far as I can recall the only previous Hot Fuzz steels are the Play horizontal one, the Reel Heroes one that was in Europe and the US (but not the UK, I think that RH line was slips only here?), and the Canadian one from like, 10 years ago or something.

There was no other re-release by EB or anyone else in the UK, just the Play one that got shopped around.

ANd to Play's credit .... it may have even been at the release of the blu-ray itself? Maybe not tho. Never the less the price point of all Play releases always helped them move qty too and also that's back when collectors need only buy extras of those such steels (Play's) to trade and have fun with ... where as the more sought after stuff these days is not simply the steelbook. Its with slips etc. There are those rare occasions when the steel all by itself is in high demand. Love those occasions tho.

Yes there was. Everythingblu's one was originally released horizontally also before they re-released it but made it vertical.

I think you guys are talking about different movies. Before EB’s Hot Fuzz, there are 3 previous ones.
  1. Hot Fuzz (Canada)
  2. Hot Fuzz (Reel Heroes) (USA)
  3. Hot Fuzz (UK)
Shaun of the dead has 6 different arts worldwide.
  1. Shaun of the Dead (Canada)
  2. Shaun of the Dead (Reel Heroes) (USA)
  3. Shaun of the Dead (Mondo X) (Target)
  4. Shaun of the Dead (Iconic)
  5. Shaun of the Dead (UK)
  6. Shaun of the Dead (EverythingBlu)
And there’s only one The World’s End
  1. The World's End (UK)

I already attached a pic of it. The horizontal red one.......

The conversation was between myself and ashcroft.

He maintained there was nothing after Plays horizontal black one.....

This is very confusing.

It seemed like you was talking about Hot Fuzz originally but now it seems like you might of been on about Shaun.
Everyone here is saying about fuzz

The red one isn't Hot Fuzz though so what exactly are you getting at?

Nevermind, I got confused with Sean Of The Dead!!!!!:rofl::shipped:

It was very early!!! I'm off to bed now..... :dizzy::spoil:

Play.com steelbook took a good while to sell out
It took over 2 years to sell out ;)
Stock was still available after play.com finished trading as a business
Stock not sold ended up on Amazon/Zavvi etc

Fair enough. I totally had the impression it sold out before Play went bust.

Order still Unfulfilled. What a joke.

They obviously didn't give a **** about the backlash from last time.

I won't be in a hurry to preorder anything from these guys anymore.

@dfoles also the hot fuzz and sod german reel heroes. much better finish then our USA ones. w spot gloss. (slinchafi posted pics of them in his group pic)

Same here

It is a poor show.
People should be receiving copies on release day or at the very least, all the copies should be ready to go

The way it's being dealt with it's as if EB decides the release date is when they begin their packing and mailing. Not good at all

That's so unfair lol. But I consider those the same artwork, despite vary qualities of finish.

i haven't been checking any tracking or order details, but my blubox has arrived today at work :). things get delayed at least half a day in security for my office building, so this was likely posted Monday. hope everyone else's arrives soon . will try and post some photos later. :Snap:
