Hey guys, I was in a meeting until a few minutes ago. I finally received 1 of 2 boxes shipped to me thus far (not every carrier will leave signature packages), and will start to invoice very soon, based on the order of signed up members in the list in the OP of the group buy threads. Thanks everyone for your patience-I appreciate it, and I, too am very excited to open and see the Steelbook as it will be part of my own collection as well:) Stay tuned....

Awesome @digitalbabe! Can't wait to see this in hand!

Just got mine this week lenticular coming soon as well. I'm kinder leaning to the 1/4 slip a bit don't like the lenticular image that much.

Just an update. The steelbook as reported earlier has none of the scratches that has degraded some of the other exclusive glossy finishes out there.
But...WARNING! WARNING! the gloss finish on HTTYD is very very prone to scratches! Yes its true. After I opened my personal lenticular copy and opened the steelbook itself,Just from sliding the steelbook up and down a couple of times inside the slipcover,it has attained an enormous amount of scratches and the OCD part of myself got the better of me to the point that I started wondering whether I just didn't look at it closely enough initially after opening it and maybe the vertical scratches were there all along.
So...I opened up a quarter slip to see what the heck was going on.Sure enough, the steelbook is completely free of scratches. The only thing the other steel was rubbing up against was the inside of the slipcover.I really wanted to keep the lenticular but how was I going to prevent the same thing from happening all over again. To simply put,I slightly altered the lenti in 2 ways. The first was to permanently adhere the loose card to the cover since its basically the same cover twice and would eliminate the nuisance of having this running free all the time lol.The second thing I did was to cut an opening on one of the edges so that the steel would never have to ever slide up and down ever again to cause any scratches. You would simply open the lenti and remove the steelbook cleanly. The opening is not bothersome at all since when under normal circumstances and it is stacked in place next to another steelbook on your shelf, everything is closed flush.
So far so good! No scratches!

When anyone gets the lenti version can they confirm that the steelbook is easily scratched just sliding out of the slipcover? I am considering cutting at the side as was suggested by the poster but I'm nervous about doing it, especially if its not necessary.

I got 2 copies from my chinese contact, the lenti and 1/4 slip and I can already see the still sealed 1/4 that there's scratches at the bottom of the dragon's feet...so being all OCD+ myself and hearing all the great copies people were getting I got really upset but I let it go as some got bad copies as well, so I will open My 1/4 slip that has the scratches and just hope and pray that my HUB GB order is OCD+....

If anyone get your copies with some problem, please report to HUB leader,we will start replacement when the shipping completed.

So what kind of process does that entail for when we have the full slip version? Since we wouldn't be able to tell if there is a problem until opened would we still qualify for a replacement? I hate to be annoying but having the information just in case is always nice.

Most should be no problem, but a few copies maybe damaged during the shipping,if you want to keep the full slip sealed also ok,i think its a perfect steekbook under the slip.
We ship over 700 copies to chinese member, only 4 copies with the problem until now.
HDzeta will check all steelbooks before shipping, dont worry it,you can ask every hub leader,Lawrence GB was 0% replacement until now,i think no one can break this records.
If you open your fullslip version with some problems, report to hub leader is ok,thanks for you.

Got mine in today. Its a fantastic looking steelbook and the lenticular looks better in person even though its so plain. The front of mine is covered in several tiny paint chips that almost look like glitter. Does anyone else have these?

I have opened 2 copies and both had NO PROBLEMS with SCRATCHES or PAINT CHIPS.I received numerous copies to say the least and have looked over all of the sealed copies and DID NOT SEE any abnormalities.I see the quality control not being an issue at all.
But as mentioned,it does scratch very easily.Having said that, that is NOT A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM.
I would not open one up and claim there was a problem because you ended up getting scratches after handling it a few times from sliding it up and down inside the full or quarter slip.Maybe one of the mods in here should inspect it themselves and see if they experience the same thing and verify it.
IF THEY DO,PLEASE INCLUDE IT IN THE OP,A WARNING FOR THE SENSITIVE NATURE OF THE STEELBOOK.We do not want people taking advantages of the situation.HDZeta has been very generous with this forum regarding this amazing release.

Getting more and more excited for this. Can't wait to get my shipping notice from DigitalBabe

were you asked to pay for your shipping from Digitalbabe ? or you are waiting for the shipping amount to pay request for the shipping ?

I haven't been asked yet. I think the Babe is waiting for more to arrive so she can ship them out, so once those come in she'll send out more invoices.

Hi all, sorry to be a pain but I have just returned from 2 weeks holiday and just wondered if someone could give me a brief update with the position with the UK hub. Cheers
