The left one is the 2nd (re-release), and it is available from all major retailers in Canada.

Correct, the right one is the 1st release that was exclusive to Future Shop. The only real difference is the banner - you may also notice that with the 2nd release that the type / print is offset differently as well because the banner is not there and the ratings logo on the back is now present.

The banner is printed on the steelbook, it is not removable.

It's not as expensive as it used to be since the reprint. The original print of the steelbook would exceed $300 in many cases on e-bay. I haven't checked recently, but around 4 months ago, you could get the original version for around $100 on average. Not cheap by any means, but much more affordable than it used to be.

Yup. Purchased mine from them at that price about a month ago. I love this steelbook as well as the movie.
