I rarely buy steel books from eBay or someone I don't know, but sellers that don't largely deal in steelbooks, sometimes don't know how to properly pack or ship them.
I just purchased a hard to get steel book from a great German seller and he uses jiffy bags. I asked him if he could ship it in a sturdy box and wrap it good in bubble wrap so it wouldn't get damaged in transit.
He sent me a PayPal request for an additional 5 Euros, I immediately thanked him and paid. Without asking for it, he sent me a refund of 1.5 Euros and explained he shipped it out furnishing me a tracking number from Germany, and that he packaged it very well, and double packaged. I also mentioned I was a member here, sometimes you run across fellow members that can be understanding.
So far, it always works and good sellers have been most helpful. Whenever I've been asked to pay extra, the packaging has always been exceptional and well worth the "insurance". Usually, the sellers don't ask for the extra fee, but give the great packaging I've politely requested. They love the great feedback and it helps them get a good price for their items in future listings and return customers/buyers.
