Hey guys-anytime any retailer (even larger ones) have a 'timed' deal, there will be an enormous amount of requests to a particular site, and this causes slowdowns to the site, and even crashes. Amazon, the mighty itself (and we are tiny, tiny, tiny, in comparison) has had its own share of crashes and slowdowns during their 'first come, first served' sales and deals over years (resulting in forums like this one being disgruntled) , as has Best Buy, other international retailers, and nevermind much smaller sites (such as Twilight Time with their 3000 qty limited releases, etc). If anyone tried to get any of those releases like 'Christine' or 'Fright Night', and followed some of the fallout, you know there were many unhappy members on forums and Facebook.
The 200 copies that are available to our members are already part of a limited qty allocated to Blufans, and in order to provide numerous chances to our community (which has members in various time zones), 4 different minibuys were arranged, to give as many people as possible a chance to get a copy.As our site is the most visited Steelbook site on the internet, the traffic would necessarily increase given the popularity of limited releases. Believe me-Andy has worked with Kevin behind the scenes to even make these buys possible at our community at all-and he himself, as well as a few other members acting as 'hubs' are helping ship this limited item.
The buy went live at exactly 6pm EST, and at that time, MANY people were waiting just like many who responded in this thread. It was always first come first served.
If you missed out, we all feel for you, as each of us has been behind the screen, and has missed a limited Steelbook release or limited edition over the years.
