I got the German version from Amazon complete with 5cm vertical scratch (box cutter for sure) - I emailed and they said they would send a free replacement, no need to return the damaged one due to prohibitive postage costs. That is very good customer service.

WOW that really sucks. I take it the fist copy they sent you had one of the slashed spines? As bad as HMV has been they sent my copy of Jaws in a box. But i do have damage issues with HMV right now with my copies of The Hunger Games & Rumble Fish steelbooks. HMV sent both steelbooks to me in those ridiculous jiffy bubble envelopes. So i do feel your pain right now.

I ordered this from Amazon.co.uk on 9/15. They dispatched the item on the 16th. This morning I get an email saying it is undeliverable and I'm getting a refund??? I've ordered from them before with no problems so I'm kind of confused. Now the item is out of stock and their customer service was less than helpful. Basically I either have to buy a used copy or pay a crazy marked up price. Lousy way to start the day.

US just got a digibook, not a steelbook. The UK one from Amazon was the most reasonably priced one. I had it for £19 shipped. It doesn't seem like any of the marketplace ones will ship to the US and HMV has it for £25 before shipping

Yes that's exactly it! I did manage to get a mint copy from a friend but have to wait for it to be sent to me so that kind of eases the pain. My issue with amazon is even if I tried to get another replacement they are sold out! SMH

Still available in places like HMV, I know it's a bit more pricey.

Thanks for the heads up! I have heard horrid stories lately regarding HMV packaging as well though. I'll just stick with my copy I have for now.
