I agree. Some steelbooks have different thickness and quality of metal. Its obvious something has changed.

yeah, im thinking that to make the special case for the six discs they sacrificed some quality. And since mine got a paint chip in it were also gonna add crappy paint to the list ok? good.

i dont have this in hand, but my guess its due to the embossing. As they did an inlet deboss before they embossed so you lose a lot of thickness there.

But the thickness should remain constant throughout even if its debossed or embossed. I think different manufacturing plants have different quality. It could also be a case of bad steel. Just look at Titanic.

I stopped by my local BB today to pick one of these up. They had about 6-7 in stock, but all had paint chips/wear on them. All in the same spot too: at the bottom right corner on the edge and on the debossing. Must be very thin shrinkwrap. I did notice the very flimsy feel of the steel of the book too..... pass.

Just got mine in the mail today. No dings or scratches. I have to say it is the flimsiest steelbook in my collection. Feels like tinfoil. Its pretty thin. Dissapointed.

Here's a link on ebay that really shows where I saw the paint worn down on the bottom right corner.....because of the black, it really sticks out!

Your better off getting the German release - this one is pretty flimsy. I think Masterblaster has some copies left.

I just started watching this and I've seen the movie a bunch of times. I heard during the opening credits and raptor transfer scene a few "digital pops". My wife said they might be branches breaking or the tasers but I don't remember this in the soundtrack. Any thoughts?

also hear it during the first encounter with the t Rex. During some of the roars...like a crackle almost.

FIXED! I changed the bd audio setting from mix to direct and that fixed it. Sweet. It's a Sony n460.

Meh, pass-no G2, no buy for me-sticking with MM edition.

Digitalbabe....I made the mistake of buying the American Best Buy Copy of Jurassic Park Trilogy Steelbook.
When I got home I went to put it on the shelf and realized it was over an inch taller.
I finally realized that G1 means "dvd sized" while G2 means "bluray sized".

I have read on the forum that Media market(GERMANY???) Has a G2

Will it Have english menus and language?
Will it have 3 blurays and 3 dvds Like the USA G1?
I'm new so not allowed to buy/trade here...Besides eBay, where can I get my hands on one Securely where I won't run into someone who takes my money and doesn't deliver the product?

While I am posting can you also answer the following questions...
1) What is a "Universal Release"
Does that mean it is guarranteed to have english menus and language
On that subject...What is the secret to Confirming a Bluray (STEELBOOK or otherwise) has an english menu? I have unknowingly bought blurays(steelbook and regular) where the onscreen menu was locked in a foreign langauge(in my situation they were all from germany)?

It does have English menu and language.
It does have 3 blu-ray and 3 dvd BUT the dvd's are region lock, so they won't play in USA. The blu-ray are fine

I'm wondering if there's any way to cover up silver paint scuffs on these black steelbooks without them being noticable? I've got silver paint knicks on my JP Best Buy steelbook AND my G2 French Batman Begins / The Dark Knight steelbook. Thoughts?
