Thanks to Fan_of_Gaming from the BD Forums.

According to a Futureshop empoloyee who is quite credible, There will be a Futureshop exclusive for the Jurassic Park Trilogy.

Guess this makes up for the other copy getting canceled. Can't wait for this one! Will try and update more when more news comes out.

I told myself that I wasn't interested in this, but it's creeping back up on my interest level. Must resist lol.

Hi Folks, I've been in media distribution and marketing professionally, for 15+ years. pricing for DVD vs. BD, vs special edition, vs BD and digital copy, etc sets is constantly in flux. The marketing is rapidly changing regarding how the different formats and bundles are getting priced, because of the concurrent and convergent (recorded disc, digital, vod) formats available right now to customers. Sadly, it is not often useful to compare that, as DVD's are often priced higher than BD, and vs versa, and if you compare, pricing often makes no sense. If a price point is set by a studio and subsequently retailer, for 1 edition, it doesn't mean the others in a retailer's catalog will be adjusted, accordingly.

As far as any info on the FS site, often the data is ported from an existing edition, to populate the new catalog record, and 'sets' that contain multiple discs, are often still listed at "1" or "3" according to how many actual 'movies' are supposed to be in the set. Also, 'digital copies' are often counted as a separate disc, and sometimes, they are not a disc at all (just a code).

The info our site receives is from 1st hand sources directly involved with the production/marketing of products, and is current and correct,at the time the info is given to us. However, the studio has a prerogative to change those details anytime they wish to do so-and sometimes at the last minute. The best thing we can do is 'go with the flow' as new info is released and updated. Hopefully the set will be everything folks want, in the end! :scat:

That's impossible ... The regular boxset contains 3 disc for 69$ and this one 6 disc for 79$ ? 3 DVD for 10$, really ?

Well its got a 6 disc holder, so I would assume its to house 6 discs, but hey I've seen stranger things where some the Disney USA releases had 2 disc holder with only one disc inside heh.

No internal art???

The UK version suddenly becomes more attractive.

Regards,

Well if you count legal printed stuff on the inside right then sure there's inside art. :p

$80 plus tax for a dvd sized steelbook with no inside art, guess i'll pass on this
Futureshop really missed the boat on this, i'd have bought at $100 if was g2 and had some nice inside art ,like of the Trex

Me too. I got a nice little jumbo shelf going on hehe. (UP, Monsters Inc, Amadeus/One flew over...) Plus people can make hybrids of G2's with jumbo's ;)

Couldn't agree more. I have separate unit for DVD's vs Blu-ray's so it really helps to get Blu's in G2. At least I have flexibility of a jumbo on whether to slim it down or not.
