Thanks to Fan_of_Gaming from the BD Forums.

According to a Futureshop empoloyee who is quite credible, There will be a Futureshop exclusive for the Jurassic Park Trilogy.

Guess this makes up for the other copy getting canceled. Can't wait for this one! Will try and update more when more news comes out.

Yeah, I know,I know:), but I am thinking of the US/North America for this particular discussion. It's hard enough to convince studios that there is appeal in the US market for Steelbooks at all. If G1's end up selling and people keep buying them (because that's all there is,vs. an Amaray, or because G2's are just 'not that important'), who's to say they won't stop trying to push for G2's in the US-especially since they're cheaper?

To tell you the truth, after years of collecting, importing and jumping through hoops to get some of the Steels from other countries, it was awesome and a 'lil surreal to walk right into 'Walmart', of all places, right down the street, to get the G2 Res Evil and Battle LA releases. I would love to support US Steels (and I do, if they're G2), like other members do in their respective countries, but unless we get more G2's, I guess I'll just stick with imports. It's just annoying to see G1's here when every other region gets G2's routinely (for a variety of reasons). I still hold out hope, however, that we'll see more G2's in the US. *Fingers crossed* :scat:

Im shocked that there seems to be so little US Steelbook releases compared to other countries, including Canada. I would have expected the US to release them more than Canada. Luckily they are easy enough to get down to all the US collectors.

I wouldnt know how to act if I could walk into USA stores weekly and get G2 steels. :p It might change my desire for the hobby as I like the hunt in getting the imports and then waiting for them to arrive and hoping they are pristine. LOL :p

But I'm sure I could find a way to manage. ;)

Yeah, it sure would be nice to pick through shelves in order to find that pristine copy rather than receiving a crushed package.

LOL, I love it!

on the other hand having steels come out weekly in local stores would probably make them less valuable and collectible since they could be easily had.

Seether, not necessarily-some would still be sought by international members, as most US retailers don't ship abroad. The same situation holds when our international members walk into their own stores and pick up G2's-US members can't get them unless they ask for help or visit Ebay, so they're still sought after:) However, in the mind of the purchaser it may seem like the item is 'too easy' to get, since we're all used to 'hunting' most of the time, LOL

All good points. But even if we get G2's on a regular basis, some of us will still hunt down that one with the exclusive artwork. That would make this thing REALLY interesting. If every country got different artwork.
:ohno:

Yeah I believe someone is running a give-away on Ninja board for those who inherit festive avatars. Maybe I should change mine ...
