Got mine today. No 3D effect cock-up and only the most tiny of microscopic paint chips on the back toward the very bottom which was easily masked with black sharpie. Beautiful Steelbook...might have to ditch my Real Heroes one now.

i'd more than likely be pumped that i had both versions. pretty sure i wouldnt even consider getting rid of one. even if it had no inside art. i highly doubt that, if i had the zavvi first, i'd splurge for the RH version, but the other way around?.....yeah. i'd be happy having both.

glad to hear your steel arrived in decent shape.

Disappointing sent my chipped copy back last week, received a email yesterday for a refund, i did ask for a replacement and they was in stock for over a week after asking this. You would think zavvi knowing of this problem that they would put a certain amount a side to cover the issues. I have made loads of orders with them in the last 12 months with over 100 steelbooks, 95% of the time i have know problems with orders and receive a good service, but now and again they let themselves down big time.
There was clearly a big issue with quality control on this release and the way they handle it is just wrong.

I keep getting "only x number available: BE QUICKER THAN A *insert colloquialism here*!!" emails. 2,500 copies sold out very fast at the pre-order stage yet there are 300 remaining for over a week now and it's still in stock. I can't muster the logic in that.

Urghhh, Zavvi really frustrates me!

So they've received my damaged return but said they cannot process my refund due to my card which has now expired.

I already updated my card details (same number, different expiry date) from a previous purchase last month, but they say they can only give me store credit and unable to process the refund to an alternate card.

I am within my legal rights to get my money back

Guys, I can't help but notice a few of you have gotten damaged copies. I feel really bad for you, nothing frustrates me more than a damaged steel, especially when they sell out.

Apologies to the mods in advance, I'm fully aware of the sales / trade threads but I feel this is a quicker way for me to help someone out,

I actually have a sealed & mint spare copy myself.

Not to clutter up this thread, PM me please if you're interested in it at cost price.

Cheers!

It's sealed, so you don't really know if it's mint (i guess you didn't open it) under the jcard :D:D

:D smartarse. Well, mint on the areas that I can physically see apart from under the j-card. i.e. I felt the back of the card for any standout lumps / dents so yes there may potentially be paint chips etc. Definitely mint on the edges and all other areas that I can see.

It is a valid point though. You can't really describe a Steelbook as mint if half of it is hidden. The shrinkwrap can hide a lot of small imperfections too.

Agree , mine went back because of scratches to the front , i removed the shrinkwrap and it had scratces on the back...............bearing in mind the quality issues with this steelbook i reckon the seller would be better off selling it unsealed and confirming condition.

Sheesh, ya try to help a guy out :D

Fair point lads, Iguess it's ebay terminology rubbing off on me. The whole mint & sealed is thrown around quite a bit. I can vouch for that too, can't tell ya the amount of times I've removed the j-card only to find something nasty underneath be it minor or otherwise.

Anyway, I still have a spare sealed copy if anyone is interested.
