I have to admit that I have voted one way and bought another. Some examples, The Hurt Locker looks great in Mexican and completely different artwork too: imo very underrated Steel (yeah I know it's G1 but that's for elsewhere). An example of how a foreign language can ruin and also another enhance it, can be seen in the 2 versions of "Once upon a Time in the West". Without offending German speakers, I'm sorry but "Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod" just doesn't cut it, however "Il etait une Fois dans L'Ouest" does have a certain ring about it. Interesting to note that the english title is actually on the back of the German Steel (in fact the "Paramount Pictures presents" is all english): on the French one, the same bits are all in French.
I think leelee17 has made a valid point though about fixed subs which are a pain in the ass
