I'm sure it's something pretty straight forward. Can't imagine it's a new print run so maybe stock bought from Play to be re-sold? :dunno:

Maybe Wreck or apsmith can shed some light for us

Wow didnt see that coming and i got my copy this morning. It also has about 10 paint chippings on it :( Dont no if i can be asked to send it back though.

Well I got a few for trading chips, they are all going back to play. Don't appreciate lies.

Maybe I won't because it's a strange time for steelbooks here in the UK.

Showing as available to pre order at Zavvi (and presumably other members of the Zavvi group)

Has anybody else seen this?

EDIT - subbuteo - haha we posted at the exact same time! My bad

I've just quit collecting steel books.

Did play take up the full 4k order ? If not how many did they not take up ?

Hey folks! There was a small number of steels that play.com did not take from the distributor in advance of returned items, damaged items, and the like.

So, we can be rest assured that this is NOT a reprint, NOT a new run, or anything of that sort.

The inside info bit - since the announcement of play.com shutting their doors, they are not allowed to take ANY NEW stock of any of their exisiting items.

As such, any REMAINING items are at the discretion of the studio / distributor about where they end up.

We might see the same thing happen with other releases, if play didn't get the entire quantity, they will sell what they have, and the remainder will be passed on to other folks.

FYI.

Not lies - everything presented by staff on this forum is accurate and truthful to a fault.

I don't see any other forums posting news like this for the benefit of all members.

I personally take exception to this comment above as you are calling into question the integrity of the staff and members here.

I was talking about play.com, I assume you are just passing on what they tell you.

I could imagine, zavvi having alot of these.
Lawless steelbook seemed to not be in such high demand until the very end of the pre order period, by then Play.com had announced they were shutting down.
And all the extra copies that were released on monday must have been cancelations.

So this is no longer a Play exclusive and cannot be classed as such. The last Play exclusive honour now goes to the MI releases which haven't sold out and will probably end up somewhere else aswell.
