One thing, actually read what he said. Bugs me when people don't.

B.R. and Oldboy went missing in the warehouse for a couple of weeks. I bought both of eBay for around £40. Then, all of a sudden, Play.com had stock again at cost

I did read what he said, that those two titles didn't sell out. Well i'm quite sure not a single Play.com exclusive has sold out and not been made available for a short time near release. It's the way it has always worked as far as I know. I'm pretty sure that what happens is Play.com make it available for pre-order. All available copies (in this case 4,000) are pre-ordered so the page is taken down. A few people cancel, have payment rejected etc. and those copies are made available when orders have been fulfilled and remaining stock can be counted.

You clearly have no idea what he or I am talking about. Let's not get out of hand.

Of course they are both OOS now, his wording was they didn't sell out. This is the operative word and is in the past tense. At the time they definatly didn't sell out. It's wasn't like, say, an Iron Man were a handful where on offer for less then an hour or so..

They didn't sell out their allocation in a couple of days for O.D. or B.R.? It was back in stock for a couple of weeks. Everyone knows they pulled a fast one on us. Anyway, it's not to be discussed here :emb:

Well you win some, you lose some mate.

Wreck and apsmith said all along in the OP of the BR and Oldboy threads that Play had turned the stock off to avoid overselling and that it would be switched on after release date

People would save themselves a lot of money and hassle if they read all the threads and trusted the info from the mods. Bugs me when people don't. ;)

Shame they'll never need to do this again, especially with this SB being their last steelbook and all.

:hilarious:

You tell me to read posts and then you proceed to tell me that those titles didn't sell out before release which I had already admitted in the post you responded to

As for this title, it hasn't been back in stock for a couple of weeks, it has been back in stock a handful of times just like Battle Royale, just like The Raid, just like Iron Man. Clearly Oldboy wasn't as popular as the scalpers had hoped and so a lot of copies were cancelled hence why it returned for a couple of weeks.

With Zaavi now owning the rights to this, it's unlikely to ever sell out.
No one trusts them. No one knows how many play had, and in turn sold it seems.
Maybe the OP should now read 'Zaavi' exclusive, to reflect what it has become.

Unless there is a reprint then it will sell out. With only 4,000 copies made it's only a matter of time (though I personally believe it will be no longer than a few weeks).

Fortunatly there won't be. Unless Zavvi reprint it. Which I don't think they're allowed to do. Or want to.

In either case the title of this thread is redundant. This is no more a Play exclusive then Looper is a HMV exclusive.

Just ordered this from Zavvi last week and already arrived safely to Chicago here today. Not a ding, dent, blemish to be found. My first order from zavvi a very pleasant one, I wasn't expecting this until March. (HMV)

Was it sent in a box or bubble mailer?
