Well there was 5 of these at opening this morning, beats the 3 they had for ZDT I guess, ughhh

---------- Post added at 10:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:57 AM ----------

The only reason I bought it was it only cost me a little over 5.00 after rewards.

I did the opposite as you, I got Zero Dark Thirty for $13 after rewards and spent the $20 on this (I got the 3d Wreck it Ralph for $7 thats where the rest of my rewards went).

i did not like "Chicago" couldn't last 5 minutes lol
i liked "Moulin Rouge"
i did not like "Sweeney Todd" couldn't last 5 minutes lol
this one...haven't seen it.

I liked Phantom of the Opera, and I usually can't stand any Andrew Lloyd Weber musical.
I knew I wouldn't like Chicago from the trailers & reviews, so didn't subject myself to it.
I also liked Moulin Rouge, gave it a try as I've liked everything Ewan McGregor has been in. But once is enough
The most I've seen of Sweeney Todd was in Jersey Girl, and that was more than enough lol.
I got dragged into seeing Les Mis in theater by a friend and was surprised I liked it so much, looking forward to it at home and the steelie on my shelf.

But I'll also only have a little over $5 invested in it. Used a $5 RZ cert, and used it as my $10+ purchase to get 500 RZ points.

Ohh thats true I will goet the 500 rewards from it too, wasn't sure if I'd get them from this or Zero Dark Thirty since I used $10 of Reward coupons on that one.

All 20 stores nearby still in stock...

If I was forced to buy this movie, then I would get the Futureshop version as those tends to hold their value very well. Also, it looks better w/ the 1/4 slip.

my store had 13 in stock when i walked in 15 min after they opened. almost all of them had paint chips on the opening part thing area...yeah. I snagged two that didnt seem to have any flaws. I opened mine up and the back seems perfect with no paint chips, so I im guessing if you can see paint chips in one area there are more behind the cardboard.

My store had 3 left when I got there at lunch plus the one they were holding for me as in store pick up. I cancelled the instore pick up and just bought 2 from the shelf, since tax is cheaper.

They all looked fine to me. But I used gift cards for my copy and paid a whopping $0.50 in cash, beat that Ricker!

Surprisingly no ZDTs at the store or Avengers

I could have used my GC, but I really did not want to waste that kind of money on a steel I will never open. So beat that Mike.:hilarious:

Be careful of the dreaded slashed spine on these. Out of about 40 of these in 2 stores only 8 did not have the slashed spine. Some were under the shrink and the shrink was untouched, which means this is the factory issue and not a box cutter issue. Also, 1 out of the 3 I got delivered also had this.

I know they are aware, but this really seems like an easy fix and has been going on for way too long. :wtf:

Anyway, beautiful steelbook and like others have said much more available than ZDT.

Wow. Just checked mine and indeed there is a slash:angry: Contemplating on exchanging it. Will BB let you exchange for another copy? First spine slash ive seen from a US steelbook

Luckily I noticed the slashed spine. Also many of them had chipped paint on the front as well. I must've been there a good 5-10 minutes going thru each one. Depressing...I know!

I go tthe gift card for free from BB themselves because on black friday their website was down and when I called they had me on the phone with someone for an hour and then told me I couldn't buy anything because their system was down.

So BB paid for my copy of Les Mis today :D

Folks, just want to put this out there in case new members are not aware of this - steelbook decision makers do pay attention to this forum (and others) for more direct feedback. And if we want more US steelbooks especially for exclusives like this (ok Canada and the NA region) and ZDT, we need to demonstrate steelbooks are in higher demand than the regular amarays. Who knows if we keep up at this rate, Disney might just perk up and say let's do another exclusive wave led by Little Mermaid and Aladdin (or Fantasia)?

Believe me Ash. I am supporting U.S. steels. :scat::hilarious:
