Great movies vs. Great steelbooks vs. The Market. It's really what you want, and what the value is to you.
There are some steels that I instinctively know are going to be worth something and go fast, even though I think the movie is terrible. I don't sell steels, so I could basically care less, UNLESS I think it could be good for a trade later on for something I do want. It's always a crapshoot to guess if you should wait for a price drop, or get boned when it goes OOP. Everyone has had that moment when they realized they guessed wrong on one. I love EVIL DEAD 2. Zavvi had a 'limited Edition'. Jump all over that cuz it's gonna be gone, right?!!
Wrong. It's £9.99 for the taking right now. Ouch. (What did I pay? Wait. Don't remind me...!)
Or the last TAKEN steel- wait for the price drop right? Nope. Gone- and fast. And most likely won't be back. $60 on the bay. Ouch. It's all an educated crapshoot, and I have a pretty good average- but you will be wrong, and lose from time to time. I hate it when that happens!

Yeah that second Taken steel seems to be seriously rare lol! It's not even that great but they seem to have not made many of them which = it will most likely be more sought after by glory hounds over the first which to be fair isn't that great either! lol! Come on Kimchi do Taken and blow these 2 out the water lol!

Yeah! It's crazy with these few 'clandestine' steels that seemingly went live for 5 seconds one night when nobody was around!! Same thing with that DREDD Futurepak from Netherlands- it wasn't even really 'there' before it was gone!! (I got lucky. Vaako hooked me up. He posted at, like, 4 a.m. one night, that he saw a few copies at his local store and did anyone want one! The sleepless prevail!!).
But, it always cracks me up when a bad movie, in a bad steelbook becomes 'Grail-y' just because there are a precious few of them! Be my guest! Take yer $150 poop-book! I don't even want a bad movie in an amazing steelbook! If the movie blows, who cares?!!
Of course, that is just my humble opinion...
(Also if you get the LUCY Taiwan or Zavvi (they are the same), the Amazon French (futurepak with embossed title), and the Target U.S. (With starfield on back, but crappy cover) you've pretty much covered LUCY.

oh, sure.. I enjoy that too. I want people to have the steels they desire, but if I end up in a situation where I own a rare steel, I'll admit that is cool. But it's not my game plan!! And hunting is very fun!
And I do kinda hate it when a 'limited' extends their run. (what was the point then?)
Gee, I remember when I thought it was gonna be special to have the BLADERUNNER briefcase (numbered!)....
Or the DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY box (also numbered!)...
I think you can still get em at Amazon for a song... (Was I once so naive?!! ).

hhhhmm intresting question do you mean is this a good film, or will this be a good steel or will this be worth buying as it will increase in value?

all down to personal prospective and views of what your wanting it for as different people on here buy for many reasons without those its hard to help where your coming from, but welcome to hdn

personally I like to buy these, watch them and collect them. Maybe sell a few down the line to make way for nicer steels. It is rare I keep

honestly i very much doubt will raise value off the top of my head there are 10-11 versions worldwide so this will not run out.
Personally i think this will drop over time as have alot of others that started out from zavvi but these are just my views you will have another 10 people that tell you the reverse.
In all honesty if you are in it for collecting and making money you are very unlikely to, you would have to be soo expectional savvy.
the chance of making money would be better spent on the lottery but that is just my view.

Most of us on here are in it for collecting for our own collections. some will buy 2 keep one sealed and one for use.
Then get some go full extreme and have 3 one sealed, one sealed for trade and one for use.
Then some us me in this case just buy one open and watch and keep in a protective case.

i suggest having a good read around and you will see where i'm coming from.
Also if you want to end up getting in on the group buys you will have to i think is 30 non spam posts on the board to be a part of them
