Mine came with a couple of paint defects on the back (top right)
A blue line going across diagonally, and a black line going down underneath.
Has anyone else had this issue?

Just double checked and sorry but no, mine appears to be mint.

At least this time the spot gloss on the eye and lettering is very glossy. Overall a seriously nice steel, love all the equations that glow gold in the evening under lamp light. One of the first great steels of the year. [emoji41]

Well said. As an aside, was I the only one who looked at the spine and initially thought the fading out of the 'Y' of 'LUCY' was a printing error?:facepalm:

The equations on the disk look great in the actual pictures. much better than anticipated. Awaiting delivery from the UK . Hopefully it turns up soon.

I think the box is gorgeous one of the nicest ones for a while. I love the eye on the front and I just watched the film and bloody loved it :)

Kind of wish I liked the movie, as the steelbook looks beautiful. Although, on a different tip, it's disgusting how Zavvi can charge (& get away with) such extraordinary pricing...
For what it's worth, I thought the film was good up til the second half where she seemingly possessed all her super human powers through no justifiable reason other than that she had realised her minds potential- I think it's that total unbelievability factor that was such a turn off; I know it's fiction and to be taken with a pinch of salt, but the non explanation as to why she could do what she could do just through expansion of her minds capacity was just silly (at least in my humble opinion)

Although on the flip side im quick to take in and love all the superhero films out there, go figure...

It really isn't. A UK retailer dares to charge £20+ for a new release and it is 'disgusting' yet collectors have no problem paying those kinds of prices from the various Amazon sites or the 'premium' Asian retailers.

Although objectively I'd say zavvi's prices are expensive (I wouldn't have paid full price for this), I definitely agree with your point that value/worth aligns directly with what people are prepared to pay. I'm happy to pay a premium for Plain Archive editions and (some) Kimchi ones, as by and large they tend to be of superb quality.

It's hard to compare Zavvi to premium Asian retailers. Once Zavvi start including booklets, artcards, and extras then we can make an actual comparison. IMO

Forgot to add "in my opinion." I know how offended people get.

In fairness, as quoted by others, you get what you pay for with the Asian retailers- More often than not, Zavvi fluctuate their prices wildly and use scare tactics of 'only a few copies remain!' on their steels to scare people into buying the products only to see they've held stock back and you see it pop up in a sale a few months down the line.
An example of this is the Alien steelbooks; I saw they were limited editions, and seeing as I love the films (well, 2 out of 4 but being a collector wanted the set) I purchased them for £60 all in. Fast forward to the tail end of last Year and said 'limited edition' steelbooks that I decided to buy (on my own accord admitedly) are being sold for like £6.
Same with the Disney steelbooks that went on sale- Considering businesses should be run with the consumer in mind (being as it is them who keep said business in trade) Zavvi couldn't care less about ripping off its loyal customers.
Anyway- Rant over..(I'm just vexed in general- Back to work after a four day Weekend isn't a good look in anyone's books...)

It isn't hard to compare them when they are selling essentially the same product.

I was really thinking in terms of this particular title. Zavvi charging £21.99 this is no more disgusting than Amazon.de charging €23.99 or Kimchi charging $33.99.

My copy of the Zavvi Lucy steelbook arrived today. Lovely steel. The pictures don’t do it justice.
There is lovely embossed text on the cover which reflects the light at a certain angle. No idea how it was done
But seriously cool. The only downside is no card to slip into. You peel away the outer sleeve and you can't use it again.
But 10 out of 10 for the steelbook itself.
