Still don't see the hype with this release. It's very nice for what it is but in my opinion, it doesn't come close to some of the other blufans releases and it's selling alot faster? I'm confused :emb::hilarious:

It's partly due to how sickeningly awful the worldwide Monsters University release looks. It offends my eyes every time I see it.

This is the best available release for this film, therefore is the one to get IMO.

I like the worldwide version more than this one to be honest. It is just more creative IMHO and not just another movie poster slapped on the front of a steelbook design. I have a feeling when people see how that one looks in hand they will change their tune.

I'm not keen on either steelbook (worldwide or blufans). The fact that we cannot see the slips AGAIN has me, for the time being, not ordering either slip. I wish they did not do the group buy before publishing pictures the slips. That did not happen for Oz and shouldn't ever happen. I went ahead and joined both Up slips because the steelbook is so nice. This is not. Better than worldwide. Worse than probably every other steel in my collection, which is why only the slip could save it.

I agree, just blufans is often the version to get. Like this wouldn't suprise me if every other blufans release had this reaction, but they don't

I wouldn't say it's more creative also the worldwide release is also just another movie poster slapped on a steelbook

This one blows the worldwide release out the water, but I am a fan of Kimchi's slip (could care less about the student card and other extras)... So I need to ask myself if that slip is worth the $50+. However, this one's a no brainer. It's weird how they were allowed using custom art for Monster's Inc but not for University...

Yeah, the worldwide release was indeed a movie poster as well. They just changed the white to silver and removed the title. "Creative." If the composition wasn't god-awful, shoving Sulley into the corner and making it completely off balance, it wouldn't be awful.

The unorthodox and non-symmetrical composition is what I like most about the artwork on the worldwide version. Yes I know it was a poster but they didn't just stick that poster on the front of a steelbook and call it a day. They got a little creative with it and I know I am in the minority but I appreciate that they did something different with it.

I'm with you buddy. The worldwide cover isn't my favorite steelbook or anything, but I don't understand all the bad press it's getting from everyone.

The lack of the title seems to be catching quite a bit of hate but I actually like it when they don't beat you over the head with the movie title on the artwork every once in awhile. All you have to do is look at it and know it is Monsters U based off of the characters...it does not really require the title IMHO. Its also kinda sparse and not filled with edge to edge monsters which is another thing that seems to be bothering people.
