I'm guessing there'll be a steelbook release for the movie and it won't be exclusive to crowdfunders. What would make me bite on the $75 price tag was if it came signed by Savini.

It appears just to be a steelbook that will be part of the entire run ... it appears the steel will or will not have the exclusive Supporter Sticker on it. Also no guarantees that the sticker isnt sold sep. or in other areas thus making it easy to replicate and essentially making it so you spent 3x 4x the amount the steel will cost at time of official release next year.

Lots of cool things in this this project, but not so sure the Steel is one of them for us "collectors" ... steel is cool overall, and yes still potential that something makes it differentiate later from the rest of the run.

Personally I think this is a great project and it's good to support Independent films like this - especially when it's a genre I love. Getting a steelbook of the movie, or whatever perk you've gone for, should be just a bonus.

You can also win a custom designed PS4 that's also signed by Tom Savini by making any contribution. That thing looks awesome (and worth a few bob on ebay ).

I got a reply back from Monstaworx Productions regarding my worries on receiving a damaged steelbook.

We are horror / movie fans, backers and collectors just like you and we will take care that everyone will get his perks & memorabilia undamaged. We will also have lots of bubble wrap

But is it a cult hit??? I've never heard of it but from a quick glance at IMDB it appears to be terrible.

My point was that if Nightmare City turns out to be a cult hit then it may be highly demanded. They've reached another stretch goal, so it's potential is increasing.

I was going to go for the regular Blu-ray, but considering how it looks to be a plain-Jane amaray with no slipcover or anything, I might spring the extra cash for the SteelBook. An extra $20 for Tom Savini's signature isn't too bad either. Plus I love Lou Ferringo and Greg Miller, so that should be fun to see.
