Can we get a sticky for this? :D

What do ya'll prefer to drink? Beer, Wine, Hard Liquor, Wine Coolers? All of them?

I only drink Beer and Hard Liquor. Mint Mojito is about the only thing close to a wine cooler I'll drink though LOL

I picked up a six of the Green Flash IPA on friday from my local specialty beer store. I gave the store a good look-over but there was nothing from Founders anywhere :(

I also brewed a pale ale a few days ago and used those new Sorachi Ace hops. They are wonderful! They weren't kidding when they said there was a lemony aroma to them. I think I would enjoy a pale/IPA made solely with sorachi ace hops. However, I only used them as bittering hops due to their 12.5% AA so I'm not sure how much flavor I'll be getting from these guys this go 'round. Hops direct does have them though, if I had a vaccum sealer, I would buy a pound of these in a hearbeat.

If you used the sorachi hops at the end at flameout and chill under 100 within 10 minutes you could get the aroma/flavor compounds without extreme bitterness.. you'd get the "smooth" bitter

Nemesis is something you would have to ask for and is most likely gone. each store only got one case.

what kind of beer do you like?

A few of my favorites from Founders are:

Backwoods Bastard (bourbon barrel aged scotch ale) comes out in the fall.
Double Trouble (Double IPA)
Breakfast Stout (pretty much the same as KBS without the bourbon)
Curmudgeon (old ale)
Imperial Stout

I would say check out anything from them.

They had these two, the KBS, Dirty Bastard, Centennial IPA, and a couple others.

The Curmudgeon sounds like an ale version of Morgan St.'s Mammogram Stout. It was a traditional Irish Stout infused with molasses and brown sugar. It had the body of a traditional stout, but a little hint of a smokey sweet. It was also made by a breast cancer survivor, and most of the proceeds went to the Komen Foundation. Plus it was a lot of fun to call Diva, and tell her that I was having a mammogram...stout. Unfortunately, it was a one time only run. I get hooked on so many of their one time only batches. I really miss the Graham Cracker Stout.

Splax, I'm thinking I'll be shipping out your beers after I get paid friday, are you still at the same address as last time?

Looks like Peach Wheat season is coming around again... Mom just got her loan to open her new clinic and she tasked me to make 10 gallons to serve at the ceremonial backdoor grand opening party for the city mayor, and other various city officials.. maybe I can sneak out a license or something?????

God damn I was a fat bastard last year... I went from 225ish in this pic to 206 now. Still pretty fat, but at least my double chin is mostly gone.

I'd be more than happy to adopt or trade for some if you have extra.

I have to ask, are you 21?

I don't mind trading, I just want to be careful since I'm dealing with alcoholic beverages and getting busted shipping to minors would really put a dent in my willingness to trade.

Typically the Peach Wheat is best drank as fresh as possible.. since it's a wheat beer they typically don't get better with age. I'll let you know when I have a batch ready since i'll likely post in this thread about it anyways

:hilarious: I can remember back in the day when I was 21. j/k I'm 30. I completely understand wanting to be careful.

Behold! My newly finished kegerator :D I've got a pale ale going in after about a week and I have a unique twist on a red ale that I'll be brewing about the same time that the pale ale goes in the kegerator. These pics aren't the greatest, but they give you the idea. Both corneys and the CO2 tank fit in there no with no problems. I did have to take the light/ thermostat off the wall and push it back a little though. If you look really hard, you can see the top of the CO2 tank between the two corneys.

saweet! Now you just need some kickass tap handles, if you're into that kinda thing.. I like the straight oak 6" handles myself, but I once saw a sculpted death tap handle.. sold on ebay for over $140 - a bit rich for my blood, but man it WAS an awesome tap handle.

Thanks mates, I'm dieing to get some beer in there and pull the first pint off! It was not very hard if you are looking to do something similar. As for the tap handles, I had been looking around at a bunch of them but the black matches the rest of the fridge. Plus, it is kept in my garage and the spot where it is used to keep soda boxes, charcoal, and all kinds of other crap. The current handles are just about even with the top of the fridge so I think I might keep them in order to limit spillage of a precious few ounces every time I go to move or store something on top.

That sculpted death one sounds pretty damn cool though. I could probably get into a low-profile skull or something similar

Sipping beers on my freshly pressure-washed deck in my bare feet and shorts munching on pulled pork...

that is all.

I pulled the first few pints off of my kegerator recently. My pale ale is pretty much done, might need another few days to carbonate fully.

However, the pale ale is very interesting. I first thought that it was contamination somewhere, but I think it is from the new Sorachi Ace hops that I used. They have a weird earthy lemon flavor. The lemon sounded great when I made the recipe, but these hops aren't like a citrusy lemon, it's more like a lemon flavor minus the citrus bite, still kinda sour though. I don't think I really like it too much and now I'm still left wondering if I have a contamination issue somewhere.... I sanitized the hell out of everything though

I've got another beer that I was going to put in this weekend but I'm wondering if I should try to find any potential contamination issues....could it be my beer lines? I ran oxyclean> iodophor solution> water through them before I attached the keg.
