- The steelbook illustration is by Krzysztof Domaradzki.
- The artwork for the slipbox was used previously for the Oldboy vinyl LP. It was co-ordinated by Nicolas Winding Refn, the director of Drive, and illustrated by Laurent Durieux. The director of Oldboy Park Chan-wook wanted one of our editions to feature this artwork so we reached out to Milan Records and illustrator Laurent Durieux. You'll be able to see more of the artwork since parts of the top and bottom were cropped out for the vinyl LP.

of course there will be a very few auctions with an unfavourable ending time that will go for below retail (or with a loss for the seller) just like almost always. but i definitely agree with you that this will be a sought-after release, worth the price for the exclusive extras + bonus alone.

There are hardcore die hard fans of this movie but there aren't 5000 of them. When the hype dies down there will be loads available.

There are hardcore die hard fans of this movie but there aren't 5000 of them. When the hype dies down there will be loads available.

I agree, should be able to get this from PA because I can't imagine they won't restock every edition in a week or two with all the unpaid orders and such. I think this will be on Ebay after a couple months at retail or below. When Novamedia's Avengers first came out, 5000 copies, they were selling for double retail a lot of the time especially the Iron Man Slip but after a few months it faded. Can get all those for retail now, just too many copies. I wish they had printed 2,500, just doesn't feel very special or exclusive when the print run goes over 4K for anything IMO.

All three editions of Oldboy Steelbook are now sold out.

That's a total of 1,800 copies we allocated for our international customers. Many are asking if we plan to re-stock, but we can't give you a definite answer at the moment. Later today, at 4PM Korea Time, we'll be checking to see how many orders were cancelled. We'll also be checking local retail stores to see how many were not sold.

So much passion for this movie, and I haven't even watched it yet ... now that I have my PA edtion, I think I will open my UK version to watch it. Should I???

I think you can say the same about most releases though. When the hype is there the prices are always high and then the prices fall as interest wanes. I don't have a problem with high print runs, it means that most people can get a copy who want one. It's nice to have lower print runs every now and then but it inevitably leads to people missing out.
I think a lot of people are suprised at how fast this sold out, some were saying it would be in stock for weeks but I always thought it would sell out fairly quickly after they sold 2,200 copies of the Amaray edition in a couple of hours.
