- The steelbook illustration is by Krzysztof Domaradzki.
- The artwork for the slipbox was used previously for the Oldboy vinyl LP. It was co-ordinated by Nicolas Winding Refn, the director of Drive, and illustrated by Laurent Durieux. The director of Oldboy Park Chan-wook wanted one of our editions to feature this artwork so we reached out to Milan Records and illustrator Laurent Durieux. You'll be able to see more of the artwork since parts of the top and bottom were cropped out for the vinyl LP.

I've had quite a few parcels from overseas and sometimes the boxes are damaged but the packaging is what protects it.
Karel does a great job and I would also point to anyone that got the HDZeta Mad Max boxset.
Maybe they could use insurance??

So there's an entire 3rd disc of goodies just for the steelbook..... But NONE of it is supported with English subtitles?? Well that's fifty bucks saved.

Yup, same here!

I'm more disappointed on the extras not having English subs.

Agreed.

Like I posted earlier on in the thread, I hope Plain realise how much money they need to make back on this and share the license with someone like Shout Factory or even Arrow

If Arrow were to release this, I'd stop looking at Plain now. I have almost all Arrow's releases

Quite annoyed with this release, so wait and go couple of disappointments: Among the limited box will not ship internationally and the third disc is not subtitled ...
Why can disagree as goodies, design etc. ..but what is not acceptable is that the third disc go without subtitling.
He could have gotten two editions of steelbook with 3 discs for the local market and 2 for international or I would not have minded waiting longer and take out the edition in conditions.

f%$k me all this wait for the boxset and only now they tell us they won't let us have a go at it, sucks big time as I'm a huuuuggee fan of the flick and want the best out there not 2nd best.... time to get in touch with my Korean friends :cigar:

"Due to high shipping costs and possibilities of damage, we won't be selling the limited Box Set internationally."

I know it sucks for collectors who want the boxset but how can anyone even blame them? If anyone doesn't remember, previously they've had people negatively speak about PA when they received their package damaged due to shipping. It wasn't even PA's fault but they had to compensate for it just so they don't end up with bad rep. If i owned PA, i would do the exact same thing now. Why would I ever wanna risk bad reputation when it doesn't even have anything to do with me? Especially when they are a small company. They are not Criterion.

Plus, that Boxset sounds like it'll have a shipping cost close to $50. And what do you think is gonna happen? A bunch of people whining and complaining about why PA has to charge that much money  And I'm not talking about people just from here.

#justsaying. When you don't know how everything works, just :censored: and have a :coffee:

Just like me

Absolutely gutted waited so long for this release and know we get this sad news. Hope they change their mind and give us a fair chance in trying to purchase what most of us have wanted for ages.

True, but at least explore the option for a shipping option?

I can even buy wine and whisky from Ireland and it comes safe and sound here in The Netherlands. ;-)

And even if it costs let's say 50 dollars extra and only 20 people buy it, at least the customers can make the choice for themselves...

Back when I was a Kimchi completist, we had to pay way extra for shipping on the deluxe Snowpiercer set with huge artbook and I don't recall a lot of complaining about it because they packaged it well... Karel/FilmArena has shipped out many Maniac boxes that are huge with little to no complaints upon arrival. All you have to do is take extra precaution to make sure it's packaged well enough to survive the trip. And people will pay extra for that protection if you make them. I don't see the big problem with making it available

I don't understand why they stated how much the box set us in USD and described it In great detail, making it sound tempting to English speakers, when they never had intention of selling it outside or Korea. Regardless, I'm just going for one or two of the slips.

Absolutely! As a collector, of course i want to be able to choose. Especially if it's something i really want.
However, at the end of the day, i think it's just a matter of whether PA is willing to take a risk or not. And even if 50 people buy it, i dont think it's worthwhile for them. May be they'll change their decision before release, or may be not. We shall wait and see. :)

I know your game PA, high drama and tension to further increase the hype then you'll decide to take options into consideration and find a means to make everyone happy! :naughty:;)

Either way with such a high volume created I fully expect people to be able to get their hands on these one way or another. Scalping could be pretty heavy duty on the pimped out complete sets, but as far as I can see the PA crazies don't care about that at all. It seems a bit silly on PA's part not to recognize that factoring in some kind of insurance would promote a more neutral playing field for all their customers rather than leaving the international crowd to source them through third party sellers. You could be cynical and say PA don't care about anyone outside the domestic market and don't care how many are scalped so long as they sell out through them first - but I doubt many believe that. The pride they take in their releases says otherwise to me and I'd just like to see them figure something out here - even if it meant shipping Blus and whatever 'fragile' stuff they have planned seperately.
