DISC DETAILS FROM SYNAPSE:
One of legendary filmmaker Dario Argento’s most shocking and fantastic films is finally available on Blu-ray in the U.S. in an amazing new release from Synapse Films! Released in the U.S. as CREEPERS by New Line Cinema, 1985’s PHENOMENA is has long been one of Argento’s most discussed and debated films by fans and scholars, and now it’s available in a definitive 3-disc Steelbook® that will make it a must-have release for Argento fans all over the world!

The young Jenifer Corvino (played by Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Connelly, in one of her first film roles) is sent to a private Swiss academy for girls where a vicious killer is on the loose, brutally murdering students. Jennifer is a “gifted” girl with the strange ability to communicate with insects, and Dr. McGregor (Donald Pleasence, John Carpenter’s HALLOWEEN series, ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK) enlists her to help locate the killer. Jennifer finds herself in a bizarre murder plot with maggots, mutants, and razor-wielding chimpanzee mayhem! Can she uncover the killer’s identity before becoming a victim herself? Daria Nicolodi (TENEBRAE) and Fiore Argento (DEMONS) also star in this strange, unique and gory film from Italy’s Master of Horror, Dario Argento. PHENOMENA also features fantastic soundtrack music from progressive-rock favorite Goblin, British Heavy Metal masters Motörhead & Iron Maiden, Andi Sex Gang, Bill Wyman and Simon Boswell!

Received my copy and I love it. Only one small gripe...The unit number sticker I had (79 out of 200) was on the outside of the wrapping paper instead of using the small sticker you had under the slipcover of Tenebrae. Some of us actually open our copies just to appreciate the artwork and cards, as a collector it would have been nice to see the unit number sticker or even printed under the slipcover. All in all it's a fantastic edition to my collection and will definitely buy the next one.

Thank you. We had a bit of complaints about the numbering from #1 and while the simplicity of it just being a black label made sense I could see where that gripe came from. So we changed it up a bit this time. We do pay a small extra printing fee for our stickers to removable. So in that sense we felt that Collectors who open them could place the sticker on the back side of the envelope that houses the screen-printed art cards. As we made it so it could fit there. Then I do know some folks stick stickers inside on the plastic inner tray of the SteelBooks themselves. I do this personally with kimchi and blufans ones I open.

Some have even made the observation that putting stickers on top of custom unique art is just a detraction from the anesthetic of the entire package.

So definitely hard to please all. We appreciate your support and taking the time to leave comments.

Sorry, I have to rant about the coin.

I received mine this morning and this is how it looked like when opening the box:
:wow:

gwcBqpj.jpg

The coin wasn't secured properly. I also noticed that the coin case is much larger than the Tenebrae one, which caused the coin to move more freely.

Anyone else get this? Why wasn't the same sized case from the Tenebrae release used?

Because the coin case is bigger, the coin isn't secured.

I also noticed circle markings / scratches in the center of the coin. Not sure if it's caused during transport but there are black markings on the inside of the case which suggests this.

Quite disappointed this has happened, to what generally is a great steelbook release.

Hey @Graphic_Delusions I have tagged @Wreck perhaps there is a way he can assist. Thanks for supporting our release!

My opened package looked similar when it arrived today (found the other coin on its edge at the bottom of the box):

It seems that the coins (in cases) were placed in small bubble plastic pouches that were taped on top of the bubble wrap around the steelbooks, but one end of the pouches was open. Then it's almost certain that the coins would find their way out of the pouches and the cases during transit, as (like you mentioned) the cases are quite big for the relatively heavy coins.

Both coin cases are quite cloudy (scratched), as the coins have moved a lot inside the cases during shipping. Haven't yet taken a close look at the coins themselves...

Fabulous release, I really like both slips :LOL::drool:

We didnt purposely ask for a bigger plastic case but that is what we all received. The plastic cases are not advertised and are freebies (in our eyes) to the customers it is however an upgrade that we purchase but we dont necessarily pass that cost along to customers other cheaper options were little felt bags. For future releases we will try to get on their butts about the smaller cases. In the past we have not replaced any broken plastic cases internationally as it would literally cost $15 to do so when these plastic cases can be bought on ebay for less than $1 (least that is the prices I saw back around Tenebrae) or in local hobby stores. Sometimes the middle can be cloudy and I get the frustration as well, but I can attest that its not due to how we shipped as we received cloudy ones as well so basically how we received them. I recommend that if it bothers a person and one side isn't clear then they can look to ebay for challenge coin holders. Buried deep in the tenebrae thread were members posting many diff coin holder options as some opted for more premium coin holders. However some simple ebay searches offer a plethora of options.

Most coins are taped down for transit, but some slight variations can occur to the packing process if someone is receiving multiple steels, coins or additional items like pins etc. We do purposely try to pack it in a way to limit movement, but it be hard esp if the tape comes undone and of course if there is no small bubble pouch first then we've had complaints of too much sticky tape on the plastic case. Lesser of two evils perhaps.

As for having damage to the coin itself, ill be in touch.

@Wreck Not really worried about the coin cases and I wouldn't dream of asking replacements for those. It's easy enough for me to walk into a local coin shop and get exactly what I need from there; they cost very little. More of a convenience to have them included with the coins, as wrapping the coins in bubble plastic would probably protect them just as well during shipping. Just reported what I'm seeing, as the buyer always looks at new items expecting them to look new.

The coins themselves are great looking designs and well executed, I absolutely adore them  Unfortunately both of mine have a lot of scratches, and I guess that most of the damage occurred during shipping, as both were outside of the coin cases and the coins included with Tenebrae were mostly flawless.

Beautiful slip cases, especially nice finely embossed details in the Quiltface design front cover. Excellent job from HDN!:happy:

Hello,

I pick up mine at the post office today,:thumbs::thumbs: and it was awesome,:thumbs::thumbs: BUT,:whistle::whistle::whistle:

Unlike others who got their coin outside the coin case, with the latter open, but mine which was empty, well closed and the coin was exploring the box.

(n)I was surprise to realize that their was no ninja figure on the spine as the 1st one has:bag: and the numbering sticker has my numbers written with a marker (n)

I received my Phenomena exactly how it was shipped. The coin was still wrapped in the center. I was disappointed with the case it came in. It was too big, causing scratch marks on the coin itself. The Steelbook and extras were great.

If you plan on using the same coin dimensions for future releases, I would recommend investing in Air-tite brand coin capsules. This coin fits perfectly in a direct fit H38 capsule.
Ordering in bulk allows each capsule to cost as little as 33c each.
Note: I have no affiliation with Air-tite, I'm just a satisfied customer recommending them.

Thanks for the recommendation @Snake we've since just went ahead and ordered some more clear cases to fit. Figured we might as well given the cheap cost ... So all orders going forward will have those for the coins. I'll get a QTY to @cooey in the UK who can put some cases in those who order via his Group Buys or mine here in the USA. As for everyone else if you remind me for future store orders I'll get you taken care of ...........otherwise you are on your own if you dont use any of the above methods and it still bothers you. :p

FYI ... only 2 DARK INKER phenomenas left ............ if you are on a fence, now is your last chance. Or snatch you up a double for trade bait. ;)
