This is going to be a week-end of shame for UK steelbooks - one decent film ('Silver Linings') and one very good (this one) and both with VERY DISAPPOINTING front cover art.
However, as both are from EIV we can at least expect a lovely rich gloss finish just like that seen on other recent EIV titles.
It's been a while since I watched this film but I don't recall a severed forearm as seen on the front of this steelbook though I do remember a foot sawn off above the ankle.

I think this is the worst steelbook design I've ever seen.

Looks like it was knocked together by a preschooler using clip-art from a PC. Images that aren't even from the film.

Why is the title so tiny? And what the f**k is that inside art all about?

Shockingly bad.

I don't care about artwork on this one. I just hope they make all 8 of them :D
I'm preordering both this and SPL! :)

Different distributors in the UK. The first one is EiV, whilst the remainder are Lionsgate.

So, even if the remainder were to be released in the Steelbook format, people would then be blaming Zavvi for not releasing a matching series.

The best hope for a matching series of Steelbooks would be Germany, where all of the films are distributed by Studio Canal.

Looking at people's opinions it seems a 50 / 50 on the design. Personally...................

I LOVE IT!!!

Been waiting ages for this! Hope they do the rest of the films, and this design hands down beats the German one, IMO

I don't know where you get 50/50 from as nearly everyone appears to hate it....and I don't know why anyone would like it - THEY'VE GOT THE WRONG SEVERED LIMB ON THE FRONT!!!! Maybe that's more a criticism of the theatrical poster - but that's no excuse to lazily slap it on the steelbook years later.

And that inside art!!! They're STILL trying to force this modern art crap down our throats!!! :vomit:

Chill your beans mate, you may hate it and yes, it does look like I'm in the minority now, but there are people who do like it still. I much prefer this to the German version, again I'm in the minority, but I like what I LIKE!!

And it is from an original artwork, which I prefer to the standard blue foot one.

It's called an opinion!

THIS foot?

I remember the ad campaign back then. They were trying to sell it as a hard-core horror flick. Happily, it turned out to be a rather excellent thriller instead. (although the rest of the Saw movies went on to be awful torture porn crap. This one stands alone. Great thriller.)

Yes it was a foot and not a hand in the film itself but it was an image scene that was meant to be in the film originally

There are a few Theatrical release posters printed for the film release
Some used a hand and others used a foot

EIV used the First Original Theatrical release poster that's shows the hand

This is an EVI release given to Zavvi as an exclusive and good to see getting a release as EIV have some decent films in their catalogue

The UK EIV Blu-ray is the Unrated Directors Cut and has some decent extras

Note
The German Blu-ray release is the best one for more extras
The French or Japan Blu-ray is best for Picture Quality
