Yeah he makes them to order. I actually did contact him, he told me a Greedo mask would be $337.14 and the mask plus the hands would be $453.84. He's in the UK so those are the prices converted to USD. Plus I'm sure shipping on one of those things wouldn't be cheap. If I did it, I'd pretty much wear the costume all the time, ha ha. I don't know how comfortable it would be to wear that mask all day at comic con.

I'd also like to find someone who makes Jedi robes if either of you can point me in that direction...

I've at least seen The Martian, that was a good one! I guess I will let you know how Interstellar is once I watch it. Now to go look at Alicia Vikander nude...uh I meant back to football. Yeah that's it.

Unfortunately I don't know much about where to buy costume/cosplay stuff. If I paid more attention to that I probably would have put together a life sized Vader or Boba on a mannequin by now instead of buying statues. I kind of hope I get into that someday because I'd love to have at least one life sized SW character.

The price seems pretty fair for the mask and hands, but shipping costs will probably blow. But you only live once and since I'm not paying it I definitely think you should go for it lol! :D It would be pretty freaking sweet to get a SW costume that looks like it came right off of the screen to walk around comic con in. I saw a completed Greedo costume midway down his facebook page and it looks so freaking cool! It doesn't matter if it gets uncomfortable after a couple of hours, you will still look freaking awesome, just think of that. You gotta get it!

Ha, you're talking about investing probably $800 into a costume that I would rarely wear. I don't know if I could justify that...of course I can't justify what I spend on statues either. I would have to get a mannequin to put the clothes onto when I wasn't wearing it just to make it worth it!

So I found this site: http://www.jedi-robe.com/ It's another darn UK site though. It would suck to order the wrong size and have to return it. EDIT: looks like they have an American site too...http://www.jedirobeamerica.com

Hey, you've justified XM pricing on statues, so you are already above my level of ridiculousness! :p

Those look okay. They are a bit closer to a high-end Halloween costume look rather than a more accurate cosplayer costume that you'd see at a Con, but I'm not really sure what you are looking for. If I was going to go full blown cosplay at a comic con I think I would probably sink at least a grand into an outfit, just because I know how much I'd enjoy the reactions I'd get from people plus all the pics people would want to take with it. And then I'm sure I'd also wear it every Halloween too. But since I've never done the cosplay thing maybe you shouldn't listen to me anyways lol .

I don't know how much better you can make rags look, that's essentially all Jedis wear. The other outfits on the site definitely look cheap though. I think Anovos are way too expensive and unreliable, I need something in between!

Just looking at their Darth Maul costume, I gotta say that looks pretty terrible. The Jedi robes look better, but they seem short and not as full and thick as they should be. I've seen some nicer quality cutsom made Jedi robes on eBay in the past, but I don't remember how much they cost. Probably less than Anovos would cost. Sepaking of Anovos apparently they are only 20 minutes away from where I live :OMG:.

Whoa, really? Can you go check out their facility? You totally should if they allow that!

I'll probably keep checking ebay for Jedi robes. I just thought that would be a good investment because I could essentially wear it for Halloween every year until I died, ha ha. I need to get together a Halloween costume for next month, you guys dressing up this year?

By the way, tickets for Emerald City Comic Con go on sale October 19. Lou you should think about coming up for a day. :)

I can't believe anyone is making a quarter scale piece that size! Its insane. I keep thinking its gotta be a typo or a length misconversion, I just can't believe the footprint on that thing. I hope you get Grievous so badly! There is still a part of me thats thinking I might get their Maul, but I wouldn't have a clue where to put it. It will probably be another year or two before we see it anyways.

I don't think his poop brown cabinets look any better than a besta, plus he's rocking a 70's style TV cart there . That there should not give him any confidence to knock anyone else's collection lol.

LOL! A friend of mine that he got into it with called his collection 3rd world nice or something like that. She's brutal!

I will definitely get it. I don't care what it takes. Same with Maul and Vader. It will happen.

The size of the Grievous is insane! That thing is too deep to even put on top of a Besta. Is he going to be riding on that speeder (I'm not a big enough nerd to know what it was called) he was on when he fought Obi-Wan?

That sucks about your snowtrooper. I remember when I disassembled mine to put him back in the box, one of his gloves broke into three pieces on me. I think it was kind of a fragile statue.

I've never watched 2001 either, that's also on my list. It's been forever since I watched Blade Runner, but I remember thinking that I didn't get what the big deal was. I need to rewatch that one as well. Do you guys have any good sci-fi movies you'd recommend?

You're almost going to have to get custom pedestals built...although I don't know if they can make them wide enough for these pieces!

I'm not sure what forum you're talking about, but that sounds awful. I don't think I ever knew why you left the BR forum, I'm pretty oblivious.

I fell like you need to tell me who this person is so I can go mock their collection, ha ha.

Not worth your time man.

Power tripping moderators. crazyblue (Brent Gabel, Gable, what ever) decided one day that he would power trip. It's funny because we were pretty tight when BD.com started, and when they were looking for a moderator, we both talked about it for a couple days and he finally took my advice and dropped is name in the hat. I knocked on his door the last time I was in Portland, but no answer. I know he was home too, LOL!

Like older, newer ones?

It is a fragile statue, and the packaging sucks!

I think someone said his speeder thing is beside him, he's not riding it supposedly. With the size of thing I wish they would have squeezed Obi-Wan onto this thing while they were at it.

I haven't seen 2001 either lol. I think I saw part of it when I was a kid but I don't remember anything about it. I'll have to go and dig through all my DVD's and think of some obscure sci-fi movies.

His name is JKNO on all the Freaks forum and Seirgue (don't know if I'm spelling it right lol) or something like that on Rebelscum, I don't know any of his other names. This guy has a cool collection, but he's just a pompous douche. I've seem him talk so much **** about people's stuff for not being screen accurate. He buys all these hand made props, or props from companies that don't officially have a Star Wars license but they are somehow able to sell the casts of the helmets under another name.

THAT'S HIM! LOL!

Who's to say that they won't make an Obi-Wan with the Boga? LOL!

Oh I've seen his collection before on the Freaks board, it's alright. I started reading all of his forum posts and he is most definitely one of those people who nitpicks on accuracy. Speaking of custom made Star Wars stuff, I found this guy on facebook and really want to get a Greedo mask. https://www.facebook.com/Chrisstephenscreations/ I don't know why, but I always thought Greedo was cool looking even though his outfit is pretty basic.

You'll have to let me know on sci-fi movies. Next on my list is Interstellar, I still can't psych myself up to sit through it since it's almost 3 hours. I haven't seen Ex Machina yet either, is that one good? I went to Hell or High Water at the theaters tonight, it was a pretty solid movie. There was a preview for a new sci-fi movie coming out called Arrival. I just realized I probably shouldn't be asking for sci-fi advice from someone who has never seen Firefly/Serenity! :p

Loved Interstellar. Ex Machina was ok for me. There's another movie on Netlfix, same concept, that was far better IMO. It's called The Machine. And, the chick is way hotter IMO.

Thanks for the link. I keep stuff like that in a folder to check out now and then. You never know when they might make something you just absolutely have to get.

I like Greedo too. The whole design just screams 70's sci-fi to me.I checked out that guy's facebook and imgrum pages and he does some really awesome work! Does he sell these things through Facebook and do you know how much they cost? I tried to see if he had a website but I couldn't find it.

And he's even got a Hondo freaking Ohnaka mask!

11386420_835150743220332_520054173_n.jpg

I know that might not interest you at all Adam, but Lou's gonna love that this mask guy is even giving The Clone Wars some love!

Okay, you probably shouldn't listen to any input from me when it comes to sci-fi movies :p. I haven't seen Interstellar either yet, or Ex Machina (although I have seen the Alicia Vikander nudes online :D), and I haven't even seen The Martian yet. I pretty much suck lol,.

Really liked The Martian. Better than I thought it'd be.

Now that is awesome! Far better design than in Rebels also.

It's hard to find well made Jedi Robes. I do know that a local woman who does prom dresses and stuff said she could make a quality one for about $150. Just haven't taken her up on it yet. You should try someone local.

I'll definitely check it out soon. I pulled it up on Google maps though and it looks like its in a complex that has a lot of either warehouse or office space, not sure if there will be an actual storefront.

I'm not planning on dressing up this year, unless some party comes up that I'm not planning on. I'll probably just stay home and steal candy out of the bowl in between waves of kids Trick or Treating until I've eaten most of the candy I was planning to give out .

I didn't even think of that, they probably will make Obi-Wan with the Boga. What in the hell kind of space do they think their customers have to display all these huge ass pieces! I mean seriously, I'd love for them to post pics how people are supposed to display Grievous, and then I'd love them to post pics of how people are supposed to display Grievous plus all of their other SW pieces lol.

I either completely forgot they are located here, or I never even knew. I saw some pics on one of the forums of someone taking their Blackhole Stormtrooper armor out of the box, and on the box it said Anovos was located in Kenosha. I pulled it up on Google and it looks like its located in the part of a shopping complex that is just warehouse space. I'm not sure if there is an actual Anovos store in there or not. Next time I head down to Kenosha I'll let you guys know what I find.

Yeah man. That'd be awesome to check out even if it's just like a storage thing for their boxed costumes.

They probably don't expect for a collector to be a completist, and if they are, they would expect the collector to have the space if they are dropping that kind of money.

So far, for me, it will only be Vader, Maul, and Grievous. Others I'd get would be Mace or any of the Jedi Council or other female Jedi, Ventress, Sidious, Kylo, Rey, Qui-Gon, and Obi-Wan. That would probably be it.

I don't talk to her much any more, but yeah, she's awesome. And extremely hot. Like, mindblowing hot! And, a lesbian,

That sucks, the BR forum is pretty dead lately in the collection area.

The Martian was great, I will try to watch Interstellar this weekend and report back. I'm up for any sci-fi as long as it's good, don't care from what era.

So I found a higher quality place that makes robes. They actually use wool which is more movie accurate and doesn't wrinkle. They have tunics and leather belts too. Here ya go: http://www.twinrosesdesigns.com/Coats and Robes for Sale.html#Jedi_Style_Robes

I don't really want to dress up, but my sis-in-law is obsessed. She was planning a party at my place, but I cancelled it when I realized I would just be hosting a bunch of couples.

Did you see the new HT Daredevil?

Are you passing on their Boba? I found another US distributor online that wants $900 for him plus shipping. I guess thats like $200ish less than Secret Compass.

I'd love to see XM make all of those characters. There might be a good chance that they will if they start cranking out SW stuff at the same rate as Marvel. Its good news that the Vader dio is painted now, I hope that means we get to see it within the next couple of months.

The Blu-Ray forum is super dead now.

Those robes are so much better! They are definitely longer and fuller looking like they should be.

That HT Daredevil is awesome! I hope they make a Punisher and Kingpin too.

I'm definitely going to start winding down collecting soon as I'm running out of room in the SW room. My must haves that are left are Qui-Gon, Mace, Palpatine, Ewan Obi-Wan and Yoda (if SS can even get the rights to do him in PF form by himself, they supposedly can't right now). If I can stick to that I'll be okay. I just hope they don't make them all at the same time lol.

I think you'll be able to get Boba around retail cost after he's released. It seems like all the XM statues are selling for lower prices these days (with the exception of grails like Magneto and Ghost Rider). There are just so many statues coming out from different companies that most pieces aren't holding value now. You can always just wait for the next version of a character is made. There are a few Spidey villains I want, but I'm not going to preorder any of them, just wait for more reasonable prices. Punisher I want to PO, I worry that may be a sought after piece.

Yeah if I get a robe it will be from them.

Are you going to get the Daredevil? I'm undecided at the moment. It's not shipping for a year so no rush to order.

I don't understand not being able to make a 1/4 scale Yoda? They made R2, what's the difference?

The only thing I ever worry about with statues is I never know what will turn out to be a grail. There are so many statues that can't even hold their value but then there are pieces like the Mythos line that have doubled, tripled and even quadrupled in value in only a couple of years. I regret selling those now just because of how much they are worth. Its good to hear that the XM hype may be fading a bit because that was really extreme a year ago.

I'm not planning to get anymore HTs from this point forward. I've got to stop impulse buying stuff that I end up selling and taking a hit on, and I love PFs way more than HTs. From now on if I buy a collectible it is going to be from a movie or show or whatever that is at least 10 years old, unless its a SW PF. I buy too much stuff from something that has been out for only a year or two and it has absolutely no nostalgic value to me yet, and I always end up selling it for something that does.

I can't figure out what the deal with Yoda is either. The forums have opinions on the reasons for it, but since they don't actually work for SS or any of these companies who really knows what the reason is. I wish whatever the issue is they could just work through it and get it done.

Yeah there really is no way to tell. I've just noticed people are already not selling their XM Boba preorders at crazy prices. This will be the fourth 1/4 scale Boba on the market so I just feel there won't be a huge rush to buy the XM piece if you want it. Of course I could end up being wrong!

I don't know if I'll get Daredevil. On the one hand it's DD, but I would rather wait to see if someone makes a statue. Who knows, I'll probably end up ordering it then selling it off after it's sat in the box for a year. :p You have a good plan you're sticking to, seems like all of us in here have set limits. Those rising costs and space are killer!

That Yoda thing still makes no sense to me. Of course you realize if they do make him he'll be priced at $400...that will be complete insanity!

I was over on the Freaks board and of course someone had to come in to the Jango thread to comment on how terrible Attack of the Clones is. All I responded to him was: "Bashing the prequels, how original. You are soooo clever." That led to a ridiculously long follow up post from this guy explaining to me why AotC is not only a terrible SW movie, but one of the worst movies ever made. What a douche.

I just went over there, your defense of the Prequels triggered the dude into literally writing a book . That is so great! There is no way I'm going to waste my time reading anything he wrote, it will just piss me off. The Prequel haters will never change, and they will always do everything they can to **** on anyone that enjoys the prequels.

Their Boba is pretty cool, but I don't think I'd go for it even if I could get a good discount. Its just a little too busy for my taste. Although if it was displayed out in the open it would probably look really awesome and dynamic.

I thought you would have gotten the DD HT for sure with how much you like the character,

I'm sure if they do make a Yoda that thing will be over $500 by the time they get to him. I know they will put him on some giant, complex base so they can make sure to jack the price up as much as possible. The one Koto did was pretty sweet looking:

Ha, yeah I didn't read it either. I did see he quoted some of the Anakin-Padme dialogue. I will admit some of that is cringe worthy. At times I wasn't sure if he loved her or wanted to murder her and wear her skin as a suit. :p But I really like the rest of the movie. I've said it before, but the arena battle and the ensuing start of the Clone War is one of my favorite scenes.

Yeah no doubt the XM Boba is cool, it's great that there are lots of options out there for everyone. I just feel the XM Boba statue has a comic book feel to it...which I do love my comic book characters in action poses, but don't like my Star Wars characters that way. If that makes sense at all! Did you see people are already getting their Sandtrooper PFs? That was fast!

I might still get the Daredevil, we'll see. I actually sold my Hard Hero Daredevil the other day (the one where he's upside down). My favorite part about the Hot Toys one is the base, you can pose it to look like a statue on that.

The Sideshow Yoda will totally have an extravagant base! They will somehow make it 25" tall so it doesn't fit into a Besta. I swear that's their sole purpose when they are designing bases, ha. That Koto Yoda is really cool. I actually have the first one where he's sitting on the tree stump. It's on my fridge for some reason next to a Dallas Cowboys airplane.

Thats a really random combination .

They really are out to piss off all of us with Bestas. I don't think they pay much attention to how a lot of PF collectors display their statues. I can't wait for the 25" Yoda PF that will no doubt be doing a captain morgan pose on top of his hut lol.

Some of the dialogue in the prequels is really the only thing that I find slightly cringe worthy at times, like "I don't like sand". That one gets me rolling sometimes. The rest of the stuff that people whine about doesn't offend me.

The Sandtrooper PFs are shipping already? So the Sandtrooper only took 6 months to get through production and Cody took 2 years. I don't know what kind of bullshit SS will try to spin out of this, but I'm sure it will be good. Did you order one?

You can turn the base around backwards and then you can have the DD HT doing a captain morgan so he'll match up with some of your SS statues lol.

Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard picturing that Yoda! You know I actually have 3 Daredevil statues and the closest to the Captain Morgan pose is technically the XM, ha ha.

Well technically the Sandtrooper was teased almost two years ago so it still took them forever in a way. I kind of think XM is maybe pushing Sideshow to get their crap together, but I could be wrong. If you check the Marvel statue thread on the Freaks forum it's mostly all XM. I didn't order the sandtrooper, it's okay but really only looks good from one angle.

Yeah Lucas should have hired someone to write the dialogue in the prequels...or did he? I don't pay that close of attention.
